HTC One (M8): Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

I too have this case and I've thought the exact same thing about it. Gorgeous and functional !

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

I see no reason why you can't just take an exacto knife and cut the covering of the power button. The button is so reassessed that it shouldn't hurt if dropped. Its what I'm doing to my Seidio case when I get it shortly.

I just don't have the guts to try it

Hard-shell cases – however pretty, stylish or 'rad' looking – only protect against scratching. NOT against bumps, drops, and hits! I.o.w. NOT against screen breakage! You need a shock-absorbing soft-shell case, e.g. silicone, to guard against bumps, drops, and hits that break screens!

We must have similar humor, I found your comment pretty funny!

Mine's still waiting to be delivered.
Damn postal service has 4 days off like the rest of us at Easter! ;)

Or I don't know...

Design it so it doesn't cover up the IR port?

I do agree it looks amazing.

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

I have bought one of those Spigen Slim Armor in Black, the looks are incredible, I love it.

Looking forward to receiving it this week :)

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

I may try poking a few holes in the top of the power button of the case to see if it will allow the IR blaster to work. That's really the only thing stopping this from being my daily case for the phone. As of now I'm using a clear shell on it and I don't like how scratched the back is getting.

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

Is there a belt holster that works with this case?

Yes there is. I have this exact case in all black and am using a Seidio Dilex holster with it. Even though the holster was made to fit the Seidio Dilex M8 Case, it fits the Spigen Slim Armor Case perfectly and you cannot tell the holster was not made to fit it. I would highly recommend it.

If you are getting the Seidio Surface case there is already a cutout for the power button.

Wow that's great news. I was looking at those leather pouches but might pick up a holster if it fits that perfectly.

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

I also have the SUPCASE Beetle case. I love the look of it. I think the frosted back won't show scratches as much as a totally clear back. I also just noticed the halo effect that you're talking about! I hadn't realized it until I saw your post. I guess the flash is too close to the plastic right next to the opening. There's a slight roughness to the seam at the lip on the bottom back of the case kind of bothers me when I text portrait mode. Have you noticed this?

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

I am sorry but i think there is a better case that is even much better then spigen. Brand is UAG. I had it with the m7. Now im waiting for the m8. I already have the phone, case is on the way. This case is just awsome. Check out the reviews and looks. uag-outland-htc-one-m8-protective-case-orange-p44900-240.jpg
It has access to infrared, and its super tuff. The looks just keeps me coming back. Problem is UAG is not much known i think. I was going through a bunch of case videos for the htc on m7 then bumped into a video of it. Then fell in love. They dont market it well.
Also this sit nicely flat , unlike other cases because they have the curve at the back. Cant go wrong!!

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

If you go on Amazon and contact the seller, they will let you know they are working on a new version with a better cut out for the flash. Just did that, and they responded within 5 minutes, even though it was nearly 2am. This happens with many manufacturers, as it did with the original Speck Candyshell for iPhone. For $15 I really think the Unicorn Beetle (raddest name ever!) is one of the best cases I've ever had, especially once they fix the flash opening. Phone looks great in it, and it appears to have more than adequate protection, while still showing off some of the M8's beauty.

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

My case is the free 6 month HTC advantage free replacement. To my knowledge they literally will send you one out immediately to swap and send the cracked screen back.

After 6 months I'll consider a case if I'm still using the M8.

That said, I'm waiting to see what the blue and orange dot view cases look like in person.

Re: Honestly This Has To be The Best Looking Phone Case I Have Owned.

I use the grey dot view case and the stock plastic case that comes in the box. At first i thought the dot view was just a gimmick and had no real practical value. But after about a week of using it I admit i was wrong, it adds to the phone.

The stock case is also great, and looks really good as well. I use it around the house mostly.

Would you be able to post a picture of the phone in the holster?

No Problem...Here is the Spigen Slim Armor Case with Seidio Dilex (M8) Holster:

The phone doesn't rattle at all and fits perfectly in the holster. The top clip does not catch or bind on the power button of the case. I have had this combination for a week now and never had any problems with inadvertent power button presses or unlocks.

FYI: I have a Nexus 5 with a Spigen Slim Armor Case and use a Seidio Dilex Nexus 5 holster with it as well. In both use cases, the Spigen Slim Armor cases fit in the corresponding Seidio Dilex holsters perfectly.

I have also used Otterbox Commuter Cases with the phone's corresponding Seidio Dilex Holster (HTC One X+, and others) and had no problems whatsoever with them. I really like the Seidio Holsters but don't care much for their cases.

Hope this helps!
