HTC One (M8) Photos & Videos Thread

Took some pictures from one of the upper floors of a building here on campus while waiting for a professor's office hours the other day. Think they turned out pretty well, especially considering that they were taken through the window.

took a quick shot at mall to test out the camera. here is the original with auto focus

here is auto-enhance setting set to HIGH
IMAG0041 (1).jpg

I like the color and contrast much more on the enhanced photo, but the building in the far back seems to be pixelated after enhancement

This got me thinking, I usually find that Auto Enhance looks horrid on the M8 screen. I wondered, how could it look much better here? So, I tried it and was really impressed. While this looks terrible on my M8, it looks better than the original on my PC monitor. I still tust my own eye more than the auto enhancement but this made me less afraid to over-enhance pics because the M8 screen saturates them heavily.

I find the auto enhancement good because I'm colourblind. Pretty useless at anything except getting exposure right

Stumbled on the coolest thing last night. I had yet to really try the "colorize" feature in the "foregrounder" effects before. The pic at the top of this page is seen below with color focused and color removed. Will have to make a pic where the subject is intentionally shot to showcase this feature.

I did that with my old 'good' lens.. so easy to make a pic look better in just seconds. :)

All pictures taken in a car, through a tinted window, going 70mph down the interstate

Re: Share your HTC One (M8) photos and videos!

Just got back from memorial service in Michigan. I think forgot to test HDR mode but here are a few shots.

Here's my Ufocus shot, it seems to have removed the edge of the glass for some reason, perhaps this algorithm could be improved. I didn't play with it too much because it looked fine on the camera screen, but now that it's larger I thought I would show the result that I ended up with while adjusting on the phone.

Does the phone allow you to adjust the UFocus masking feature at all? I mean can you adjust what is included in the focussed area?
