HTC One (M8) Photos & Videos Thread

My first post was of a green heirloom tomato. A month later, it's ripe. This is what tomatoes looked like a hundred years ago before farmers started selectively breeding and engineering them to all look round, red, and have a thick skin. These are more fragile but also more sweet and tender. And the best part; no chemicals. The local store has them for $5lb but with some seeds, water, and TLC, I've managed to get them to grow here in the suburbs. I believe there's 2 or 3 different strains here.

I have had this phone roughly 12 hours now and even after extensively searching and researching everything I needed to know about this device the camera still truly blew me away tonight. I decided to put the low light abilities of this camera to the test in a completely dark room in my house. The results I got were easily the best I've ever seen from a cell phone camera (considering my experiences with cell phone cameras isn't as extensive as some of you) uploadfromtaptalk1399443738396.jpg

I'd say that's pretty dang good for a shot taken in 100 percent darkness, at least it looks good in the phones screen. No additional modifications were done to it, just point shoot and upload.

Here are a couple of shots from today. Rain drops on hasta leaves. First is a normal shot in full auto. No mods. Second is macro unedited.

Plantation Barbados 20th Anniversary. Love this rum and the way the M8 captured it.

Yes, 100% darkness. I was just as surprised. Granted, the room isn't huge so the flash covered it well, but even so I thought that was pretty dang impressive.

Lol.

I'm sorry, I figured that was a given considering this phone nor any other that I'm aware of have infrared night vision.

Yes, flash on. Otherwise no EXTERNAL lighting.

I'm calling the next big thing on a cell phone right now. IR camera.

Thanks for these pics. I was at the store just now buying a few tomatoes and thought about your pics thinking, to myself, I had rather have the tomatoes off android central

I have been shooting the M8 for a few weeks now, came from the OneX which had an acceptable camera. I have not purposely tried grabbing good shots... life has been like life typically is, and I can barely keep my eyes open most of the time. I am sure you know how it is. But I was finally spending a little time scrolling through the last few weeks on the dropbox upload folder, and came across this one. It blows out the sky, but is able to get a moving target with challenging shadows as the trade. So long as I am careful in bright light, I can get acceptable pictures. I am liking the pictures I get indoors and with moving targets especially. The speed of the camera has come in handy chasing after the boys.
