HTC ONE M8 to Moto x 2nd Generation. Yes or No?

I believe it'd be more appropriate to post that in the Moto X section. I love my M8 and I wouldn't switch it to any other device at the moment anyways.

If u didn't already have an m8 then the X is defo worth considering but swapping from and m8 to an X, I'd say no. I don't know what you'd gain and you'd loose battery life and boom sound, and metal build...

I agree and would recommend holding out for the M9 at this point.

Not only that, the Moto X doesn't have an SD card slot either.

If you're confused, why bother? Upgrade when the phone you have isn't the phone you want.

Came from a Moto Droid Maxx (same as Ultra, bigger battery) to the M8. I'm NOT going back to Motorola. They lost me after over a decade of being a diehard Motorola user. Call quality, reception, features, screen resolution, all are not as good as the M8 (or a lot of other phones).

Unless the hands free features are a must, I wouldn't give up the M8 for an X. The M8 is a superior device. Listen to last week's AC podcast. Phil & Jerry discuss this very subject.

I had 2 first gen Moto X's and loved that phone. The M8 is the only phone that pulled me away from it. Because I loved the first gen so much I was really thinking about going for the gen 2, especially with the leather backs and flagship specs. However, my wife did get a gen 2 just today. I've played with it all evening and done my comparing. The verdict for me...... No way I'd give up my M8 for the new Moto X. I miss all the Moto features but not enough to be lured back. Just my take on it.

I kind of agree with everything posted above. Unless you really preferred the touchless controls of the Moto x the switch wouldn't be beneficial. A lot of personal preference in that choice though. For me, after experiencing BoomSound on the m8 I'm not so sure I could stand switching to something with relatively inferior speakers. But that's just me.

What do you guys think about this switch? Needed opinions, I'm confused.

No one in this forum can give you the answer you seek. We have our opinions but come end of the day it's your choice to make, alone. I've had my M8 for about 3 weeks, parting with my lg g2. I knew the newer devices were on the horizon so I figured I would give the M8 a try until everything launched. To my amazement I was very impressed with the M8 and decided to keep it. Full disclosure, I use a Note 3 also and that is my device of choice. The moto x is a great piece of hardware with great functionality. The deciding factor for you will be which of these devices suits your taste the most as far as characteristics you look for in a device. In this modern era there are no bad choices. Competition is a marvelous thing!
