HTC One OR...

I'm currently locked in a contract, and once it's up, I'm obviously going to upgrade my hardware. I'm a BlackBerry lover first, but I'm willing to consider Android too, as it's an amazing OS with great hardware options. On the Android side of my possible choices, the HTC One is at the top of my list right now, and it's not hard to see why. It's an amazing phone, and Sense 5 is a more than welcome upgrade. My question to you all is whether there are going to be any flagship Android phones coming out this year that could top the One? (I'm not all too interested in the GS4, I feel it was kind of a letdown in being the next generation of the Galaxy line flagships. Yes, the hardware and software have gotten some decent upgrades, but it feels too gimmicky.)

Obviously at this point in the year, nobody knows exactly what to expect, but I'm just wondering whether to hold out or not. If you think there's a phone out currently or one that's coming out soon that I should consider getting, I'd love to hear your opinion. Thanks in advance!

If you wait for the next best thing, you'll be waiting forever... With that said I'd go for the one, its an awesome phone, extremely future proof and has the best of the best hardware. if it was available on Verizon I would have preordered that instead of the s4

NRJD, I agree with taylor, here. I think you should change the title of your thread to, "HTC One Silver, or HTC One Black?"!

I have both the HTC One as my daily driver and the Blackberry z10 as a work phone. I love the z10 for business, but i could never make it my daily driver. The lack of a sustained app store really hurts it, but it will improve eventually. On the other hand, if i didn't have the z10 i could very easily use the One for work and play and be very happy with it.

The only thing that is coming out for the newer phones this year will be an 800 series snap dragon processor which will be an upgrade from the 600 snap dragon in the HTC one. However the HTC one is a unique and awesome phone that's going to be hard to beat even with better processors. See my last post for a great you tube video which is people's choice.

I totally get what you're saying. The big-time phones are on pretty solid release schedules, so waiting for one of the newer ones would mean quite of bit of waiting.

That is my one problem with BB10, the app selection. However, it is already improving, and with the coming update to the Android 4.2 runtime, it should offer even more versatility for porting apps. Good to hear that though!
