HTC One overheating while charging

I've had my One for about 4-6 months now. Just recently on my last few charges my phone would become really hot and GSam would say the battery was at around 130F with no increase in charge...
I'm using the stock wall charger socket with an HTC mytouch cable (because it's longer than the stock cable).

Has anyone else experienced this as well and/or knows what is happening?

I would try a different cable. Hopefully, it isn't a bad charging port.

Golddriver97 is correct. Usually these problems are a result of a faulty charging cable. If the issue does not subside after switching cables then there is something wrong with your phone internally and may need to be replaced.

If the cable is not at fault you might have an app running rogue in the background and its running your CPU at capacity, add the heat from that plus you trying to charge it and that spells super hot.
I use SystemPanel Pro and i have seen a few times where an app will cause my device to be stuck at 30% CPU usage. Normal stand by is 3-5% with spikes around 10%.
I had a game that didnt close down properly once and my CPU was stuck at 100% usage.. needless to say battery died rather quickly as well.
