HTC One owns the S4 on pocketnow.com

om*&^%$#@!g...copy/paste is in order here... i always liked & respected PPNow but omg!! What sellouts! lol

i'm sorry but how y'all can dare to even think that Samsung hardware designers, software creators , scientists etc weren't "hard at work" this past year, y'all are INSANE..
i mean COME ON! If that's, "a company resting on its laurels" i wouldn't wanna work there, i'd be dead of exhaustion in a week!
This phone D-E-L-I-V-E-R-S!!!

IF ppl wanna say they prefer HTC ONE over the Galaxy 4, that is F-I-N-E, BUT for the love of all cell phones good & holy, DO NOT say Samsung "only made incremental changes"....

From "home button relocation for better balance, to better screen protection (gorilla glass 3) , to higher resolution, to bigger screen proportionate to smaller form factor, to higher capacity battery, INCLUDING an IR Blaster to remotely control watching television programs, to offering higher capacity 64GB model, to upgrading wifi to include ac outdoor access point, upgrading camera physical hardware AND software, improving and making functional flip case cover, zillions of new gimmicks AND features, redesigning yucky pebble design to a more squarer, premium, durable design and way more to even list...oh yeah, and all the "health" capabilities???

Put down the crack pipe & kool aid pitcher, y'all!!

I'm just not convinced that releasing a slightly altered phone crammed with software makes Samsung innovative. Most people have no problem bashing apple for the same incremental tweaks.

OT

First time I've been in here, literally thought this about the app "Pocket". Finally decided to look in here, I couldn't see why the One would be better using Pocket.

I thought it was humorous...

"Slightly altered phone" HahaHaha LOL.

What makes a cellphone company innovative, making metal bodies for the device?? Lol. Look how 'innovative" and pretty looking iPhones have been for the past 3 years..... Prrrff lol

Not sure where I said the current iterations of the iPhone were innovative. Also, don't even try to argue that they did anything to visually alter the gs4 from the 3. I don't know from first hand experience about the software so I won't comment.

Edit: I'm not saying the S4 isn't a good phone, but to call it innovative is stretching a bit IMHO.

Meh if you already own the s3 there's no reason to upgrade to the s4, the way I see it all of those are just marginal upgrades.

How many people will put a case on the gorgeous and well-crafted metal ONE? Probably more than half the people who buy one, so as to protect that beautiful piece of hardware. How many people put covers on their Macbooks? My guess is pretty close to none, because it isn't getting thrown in and out of pockets or docks or dropped on tables or the floor of your car or on the ground. To me, I don't understand the point of covering up all that gorgeousness and craftmanship. Maybe make it more resistant from the start, like cars. Metal bumpers became plastic bumpers even on a Lexus, BMW, Rolls Royce, etc. Doesn't reduce the value of the car, simply makes it more practical in real world usage. Just my two cents. But to each their own of course.

Oh I will; I'm using a TPU right now. But my OCD rivals anyone's, and I couldn't possibly deal with scratches, particularly in transit. But at home, like now? Case-less and admiration :).

Why would I be hurt?

It's a bunch of people that hate Samsung despite the fact that they created the better phone and with more features.

Still a slower cpu, smaller battery, fewer features, non removable battery, no expansion.

Yeah, someone's not butthurt at all.

This is rich considering Sammy copied the iPhone to make the galaxy line.

Wow, the love for the HTC One is unanimous in this head to head. And I completely agree. I saw the S4 today and was not impressed by the hardware or TouchWiz. I've now had my One for almost a week, which is the longest I've ever had an Android device, so that comment should speak volumes for how I feel about the One. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the HTC One is in a class all it's own.

The Note 2 had those since last year...

HTC One is the better package for sure. Gizmodo hates the S4 in their review and the Verge is trashing the S4 as well.

Don't like the one at all. I turned it off. and turned it back on and lost all of my pics. All the more reason I can't wait to get the gs4. memory card Ijs!

You mentioned apple so it was a good example....that's all.

Lol what was copied? Specifications.....
If so, I don't see MOST of the features (except the necessary for a smartphone to be a smartphone) the galaxy has had since the Galaxy s2, in an iPhone ;-)

Lol@ the ***** thinking plastic has anything to do with build quality

Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2

Build quality means different things to different people. Me personally, build quality means being able to keep the phone in my pocket by itself without a case and not having any cosmetic blemishes occur. I can live with the plastic.. allthough it tends to get greasy on smudgy on the gloss plastic they use. The textured stuff and the matte polycarbonate some companies use is nicer to me though. Samsung likes to put these plastic rings around their phones and put fake chrome paint on them. Inherently I have no issue with that as they generally look nice. My issue with it comes from the fact that a month after you buy it, you have that chrome paint chipping or pealing off just from normal use being pulled out of a pocket. The reason I personally love the build quality of the HTC One is that I can use it day in and day out with no case (So I can actually show off the looks of it and enjoy the intended feel) and not end up having it look like a turd after a month or two. Cosmetically if you like the plastic look better that's' fine. Plastic has it's own pros and cons.

I also love how people keep throwing out the removable battery thing. I have in the past used an extra or extended batter. Mainly on my thunderbolt and galaxy nexus and droid x. That's because I had to in order to make it through a workday. Now I haven't had to do that in over a year. Didn't need it on the one x or the Note or the note 2 or the lumia 920 or the blackberry z10 or the iphone 4s or the iphone 5 or the optimus G.... you get the point. Even then.. I was in the minority... most people don't purcahse an extra or extended battery to keep with them. If you need to that's fine.. but you could just as easily buy a rapid charger battery pack to carry with you.

Never even heard of "pocketnow". Are they even a relevant site or just some small time fanboy owned site? I sure don't put any weight on any "reviews" done by some offbeat websites.
I have seen reviews on both side of the fence. Some reviews say the s4 is the greatest thing ever and others say that the HTC One is the greatest thing ever. Some reviews are just too biased. Personally, I like the One; however, what is pushing me away from it is the fact that I cannot remove the battery. For some, that is not an issue, because they are not power users, but for me, it is a big concern. With my S3, I switch batteries 2 to 3 times per day so that plays a huge factor in my decision of which phone I THINK is best.
