HTC One pre-orders being cancelled by HTC USA

Yes, " the office is now closed" when you call Let's talk on the number given with order acknowledgement????

I ordered the sim unlocked 32GB version on friday... hasn't been canceled yet. However, it does show an estimated ship date of today with an arrival date of tomorrow (I paid for overnight shipping), but I don't think that's accurate!! Has anyone else ordered a sim-unlocked version that shows a similar shipping situation? I know the "official" ship date is supposed to be the 19th.

There are several mentions of this in several threads. Basically, Letstalk system is set up to show their normal shipping times. But this device isn't shipping this soon. It'll be shipped the week of the 19th. You'll probably see your shipping date changed at some point. When I ordered mine on Friday it showed 4/6 as the shipping date and then was changed to today. I'd expect it to soon change again.

Yep - exactly that. Hopefully it's just something dumb like the receptionist forgetting to change the inbound automated message, but still, pretty darn annoying.

Just hung up with a supervisor at HTC USA. The phone # in the order confirmations has been dysfunctional since Friday in the USA. HTC says they don't know what the issues are. They can't tell me if orders are truy cancelled or not.

I more or less blew up with frustration, completely shocked that such a major launch could be this bad, and HTC has zero information.

The supervisor took my name and number, promising to contact me with information.

I find this shockingly poor. For me, this is added insult, Since my whole experience started out as an AT&T premier customer, which was loaded with all kinds of issues as well (google" AT&T premiere customer HTC one pre order") - phone was un-orderable on launch day. I thought I found the ultimate solution- order from HTC's site directly. Wow- what an abyss this has become. The ONE looks like good hardware, but no hardware is worth this ordering pain. Unbelievable.

Update. Try dialing the number in your order confirmation. The message says they are closed. But, press option 1 to enter an extension. Enter 5002#

I ordered mine Saturday morning and it still shows "Ready for fufillment : with a ship date of today (I know it's just a glitch). Hopefully it will still launch by the 18th.

That's some progress - now I've just been listening to elevator music for 12 minutes. Were you able to speak to an actual person at some point?

Finally got through. Guess what?

Orders kept getting cancelled by them because I ordered while traveling outside of the US, and they automatically rejected them based on where they saw my IP address's location. #fail

I finally got through as well. I have to say, LetsTalk needs to get their act together. If they are indicative of the types of companies HTC is partnering with, it's no wonder HTC is getting its rear end handed to it by Samsung.

In any event, the problem with my order was apparently that even though LetsTalk gives you the option of shipping to an address other than your billing address when you order, the LetsTalk rep on the phone said they can only ship to one address - your billing address. On top of that, even though I entered my billing address and desired shipping address, this apparent limitation in their system caused their system to replace my billing address with my desired shipping address, so when they went to verify the info with my credit card company, of course they couldn't verify. So I had to give them my billing address all over again, authorize them to also ship to that address, AND jump through a couple of hoops to prove that I am who I say I am.

Wow. That's crazy. I'm also sure HTC or other companies don't know the ins and outs of letstalk or wirefly systems.

That's really odd. I ordered mine within the first few mins that they were available and there was no option to specify a delivery address that was different than your billing address. So I called in later that same day to have the shipping address added. I called again later the same day to confirm that they were different addresses and they were. I need to call in again to see if I can get them to add in the free case and drop the price on the next day shipping I ordered to match what some others have done. When I do that I'll reconfirm the shipping address vs. billing address thing.

Good thing I always have everything shipped to my billing address. But of course I know others have reasons for having different addresses. I know I wouldn't do it for the sake of my impatience because I wanted to get it at work. Good luck to you all though.

Is this for the Dev edition or the 32GB unlocked?

EDIT: Nvm, read the OP.

Advice for HTC. Get better partners in business. See how Samsung beat Apple in the phone market. You are making Android look bad.

Yeah, the main reason I ship to work is for the security. There's nothing like coming home to find that FedEx or UPS left an expensive piece of hardware sitting on your front step for all to see. I stopped shipping stuff to home after FedEx left a laser printer on the doorstep one day. Also, UPS in my area frequently attempts delivery after the management office of my apartment is closed, so I end up playing a 3-day cat and mouse game with them just to get my stuff.

I agree but it seems to be a bit different. I don't think people buy devices straight from Samsung in the US so they don't have to worry much about this because we go to our carriers or other 3rd party. Looks like HTC should have kept it the same or let these 3rd parties facilitate the entire process so it wouldn't look as bad as them. Just a question, does everything have to refer to Samsung or apple? I'm just wondering because one can argue that Samsung key to success was to copy apple but that's a different story for a different time.

Oh, weird. When I went to order (about an hour or so after getting the email from HTC, I think - about 11am Pacific time on Friday), it had this option (which I used):

That's still available on the form right now (which is how I pulled that screenshot). This part of the process is handled on a letstalk.com URL, so I don't think it's just a matter of miscommunication between HTC and LetsTalk; LetsTalk just doesn't have their @#$% together.

Yeah letstalk needs to remove that option altogether if it means they'll cancel the order. Just dumb.
