My htc one s was playing up quite a bit so I did a backup on HTC Manager and removed items and now it says this.

I got stuff saved in HTC Manager and also on pc.

Phone seems to work ok but now "Personalise" stopped working.

Please can anyone assist me?

Thank you,

Dvtrv

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean when you say you "removed items"? Did you disable some system apps? If you're rooted, did you actually delete some system apps? My guess is that you disabled or deleted something that is needed for that particular function.

Thank you for your quick response it is much appreciated.
I am after assistance here as per my thread.

I removed music and pictures after backing up phone.
I also removed things like Whatsapp conversations and pictures which I saved also.

I did not disable nor remove system apps.

So if your assumption is right, which I'm really not sure about, how can i resolve this?

Thank you,

It comes up when I try to change ring or text alert tone. Bascially when trying to change ringtone. I go in to settings, personalise then change rt then it comes up with "Unfortunately personalize has stopped" then returns back to settings when I click "Ok".
It's not an app and continues after restarting.

I'm attempting to reboot into recovery mode.
Ive no root access so unable to use "Quick Root (Reboot).

I'll get back to you.

Thank you

Hi,

So I've done it in to recovery mode. I can't seem to see how to system cache partition.
Could you please instruct me on this please?

Hope so.

Thank you,

Do the steps I linked for you not work? I don't have a One S, so I can't check myself, but considering that those steps are on a carrier's support site, they ought to work--unless they're specific for the T-Mobile version, and you have some other version.

Try booting into Safe Mode, (which is at the bottom of that article I linked previously). This temporarily disables 3rd party apps. If the problem persists, then something is screwy with the firmware. If it goes away, then something you installed is the culprit--you may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem goes away.

For now I'm going to leave as is as, as it's actually my wife's phone and she's happy, seems ok.

Thank you for your excellent assistance here.

I'll keep this incase situation changes.

Thanks again.
