htc one ships with multiple displays; different color balance and contrast ratios

XDA hurts my brain soo much....

I have learned so much at XDA its crazy. Yes, they can make your brain hurt, but they can help in ways very, very few people on this forum can.

Note: I'm in no way bashing this forum. I would never go to XDA to ask many of the questions that get asked here and the discussions and device comparisons that we have here aren't as prevalent on XDA. Different strokes for different folks.

Well yes XDA is clearly for developers and thats the way it should stay! If we went over there and asked "what do you think of the tv app" we would all be shot

I can't even imagine the rage that would follow lol

I think having read the entire XDA thread that basically there is only one screen that is shipping retail.

ID_M7_JDI_SAMSUNG_C2_2

And, while there have been varying measures of brightness, contrast, and color temp, that is true of all phones and pretty much everyone agrees that the screen is great.

I love the Irony here. The great HTC One screen is due to their biggest competitor.

Actually the screen is by Japan Displays, Inc. (JDI) with a samsung controller apparently.

I don't see it a bit ironic. I would imagine they source whatever product from whoever can deliver their specs at the best price. If samsung didn't want to sell to them, it is likely someone else would.

Hey guys.....
I've actually seen the difference.
I own a Stealth Black HTC One.
My friend recently bought a Silver version.I had him put on the same wallpaper as mine and turned up the brightness to max on both(no power saver).
My screen was visibly duller with a very saturated contrast.
For what is supposed to be one of the best smartphone screens ever , I always felt my screen was pretty unimpressive.
Anyone suggest what to do?
Are there any software tweaks or am I stuck with a defective piece(I hope not). Please reply guys ...
