Source: CNETTo set your home screen to something other than BlinkFeed, head into the BlinkFeed menu again by pulling down from the top, but this time select Customize Home Screen from the drop-down menu.

Your phone's home screen is designated by a small home icon.

Here you'll see little versions of your different panels at the top. The home screen is called out by a little home plate icon. To change this, tap and hold on the panel you want to designate as your new home screen and drag it up to the "Set as Home" tab revealed at the top.
To see if the change has stuck, press the home button, and you should be swept over to the new home screen you defined.
Something that's been repeated (by many) quite a few times in other threads, but I'm gonna post it here anyway.

Hehe... Sorry about the update. I just wanted to make sure to give the correct advice than writing something I wasn't sure about, so I updated my post. You've almost got it right: after you long press to get to the screen/widget management area, then once there long-press your screen of choice and hold AGAIN and then you'll see the Set as Home option in the top left and you drag up to that.
EDIT: Ahhh, I see you updated your post!![]()
Not so much a tip really but for those coming from an s2 or an s3 where you had toggles at your finger tips when you pull down the notification bar, You can download an app called 'power toggles' that allows this feature and i highly recommend it![]()

I thought about creating this topic for this tip alone but I DAFS first, I hope youre happy.
Im sure most know this, but for new users:
Coming from every iPhone including an iPhone 5, one of the major things that frustrated me was the email app on Android. I never understood why the email was so huge without the ability to zoom out by default.
If you go into Gmail app and go to settings > general settings > and click on the Auto-fit messages box it changes the default email view to fit the screen with the ability to zoom in.
This is a HUGE deal to me. And makes utilization of email so much better, I am blown away that it does not come this way by default.
So I have been an iPhone user since the first one in 2007, but I am absolutely loving the One! The only thing I miss from iOS is the search function. From your home screen you can swipe left to a search page and it will search for anything on your phone. So any word you put in there it will pull up contacts, emails, texts, or anything on your phone containing that key word. I used this feature constantly and was wondering if there was a quick way to do a phone search like this on Android?

Yea WebOS had this too...since coming over to Android from WebOS Mattias Duarte has been adding lots of WebOS functionality to android with every update, so maybe it's coming soon in some way...While a step in the right direction, its not quite the same. The iPhone's search allows you to actually search the content of the message so you can easily find the exact text you are looking for. In phone local search is one of the very, very few things I like about the iPhone over the One, and it's a shame Apple has a leg up on Google in any search related field.

I love Google gesture search!!!
You can even have it in the notification drawer... When you set it up, it lets you select what you want it to search. I have it set up for contacts primarily because I have a lot and it makes it easy to find who I'm looking for!
