HTC One V

I just bought a One V. It's slightly used. They claim it was only used for a couple of weeks while on vacation and is still like brand new. I can't argue at $155 with shipping!

In case anyone is interested, I also found one on Ebay for $172 shipped. It was purchased with Virgin Mobile credit but is still supposedly new in the box. HTC One V - 4GB - Black (Virgin Mobile) Smartphone 821793026172 | eBay

Also one more for $185 shipped, supposedly brand new. Happy hunting! HTC One V - 4GB - Black (Virgin Mobile) Smartphone - Clean ESN 821793026172 | eBay

I also might be acquiring my Dad's Optimus Elite as he just passed away. I'll be having all kind of new droid toys to play with!

Thanks ! And really sorry for your loss man \:

I was just about to finally put away my Optimus V and buy the One V, but then I saw that non-removable battery, and that just pooped all over the deal for me.
I mean, when you're experimenting with new ROMs and OC'ing and such, at least a few freezes are inevitable. What am I supposed to do when my screen's frozen and I can't pull the battery?
I also like the ability to buy an extended battery, though from what I hear the One V has awesome battery life straight out of the box.

You just hold down the power button for a long time and it forces off.

Yeah it sucks. He was such a great man too! Been fighting colon cancer for almost a year but it finally caught up with him.

I got to say goodbye to him today. They did a really good job on the makeup! The funeral is in the morning.

It's sad to see him go but not nearly as sad as watching him suffer like he has these last couple of weeks. Honestly I'm glad it happened sooner than later.

He saved my life though! I'm only 36 and I got a colonoscopy and they found several pre-cancerous polyps. If I had waited until I was 50 like they recommend it would have been too late for me. Thank you Dad!

I'll let you guys know how awesome this phone is when I get it!

Make sure it is a CDMA phone. Virgin Canada also has the One V, but it it's GSM. Read the description of the first phone, it is GSM, and will not work with Virgin Mobile USA.

I'm tore between getting the One V or the Nexus 7 when I have the money. My OV is still fine but feels so outdated. Any suggestions?

The Nexus 7 is having some quality control issues with the screen cover coming unglued. And I don't know where you will find equivalent pricing for phone service, if that matters.

The one I bought was through Amazon and yes it's supposed to be cdma. Those others i provided links to.. Well I honestly didn't read the descriptions too closely.

I'm excited it's been shipped already! Just gotta wait for the usps to get it to me!

Yeah I heard about that.. my plan was to use it without any service over wifi if that's possible

I'm so glad you shared that with us. Batteries do go bad, some sooner than others. It would suck to replace the entire phone when the battery decides to take a poop. :)

I doubt the battery will go bad soon enough for that to be an issue, and with the fact that you can hold down the power button (just like on a PC) and it will shut off, no matter what, I wouldn't see it being a problem for me. Seriously considering this phone...maybe...I'm so wishy-washy when it comes to large purchases.

Unless you get a defective one.

I'm very disappointed. Amazon just issued a refund with no explanation as to why. Even though a tracking number was issued with a delivery date of 7/31-8/1 I never received the phone.

The seller didn't even respond to my emails.

My only guess is that she realized that she could get more money for it and decided not to sell it to me.

It just irks me how these people can pull this kind of stuff without any accountability whatsoever. Oh well. Guess I'll just buy a new one.
