HTC One V

I wouldn't mind this phone at all. I've read on xda that it can be over clocked to up to 2ghz but people have gotten it to work at 1.5ghz beautifully. Plus at that speed I really have no reason to spend an extra 100 on the evo v. 200 for the one v is great looks like o have to start saving up :)

G-T-R & Quattrimus CM9 Nuff' said.

Htc phones seem to work well with overclocking when i had my HTC Inspire 4G with at&t i had it running at 1.8 ghz the max and it ran just fine with the only issue being it kill the battery in only 5 hours.

overclocking can't be done on the virgin mobile one v until htc releases the kernel source.

I've had the one v for about a week now. I like it a lot... except for sense. I'm waiting for a build of CM9 to be more stable before flashing it again.

What exactly IS sense and what's so special (or not special) about it?

Sense is the UI overlay HTC installs on their devices. A normal user will enjoy sense, but a power user would rather root and install a custom rom.

Im a power user and have always loved Sense I do always flash a custom Sense rom but I have always kept the Sense

meh, after running CM9 I have no use for sense. however... I like the camera and contacts/dialer layout. everything else can gtfo my phone as far as I'm concerned.

So basically Sense is like a custom launcher? Let me guess, the resources it hogs isn't worth the few benefits it provides...

I'll find out soon enough as I'm supposed to get my OneV this afternoon!

For the record benslgdroid found out you don't even need to root to tether, all you need to do is switch to a third party launcher. All VM did was hide the tether app in the stock sense launcher, thinking that most users are too naive enough to find that out.

Sense actually runs well on the one v. My wife has one and its pretty amazing. I was impressed how much nicer it is than the elite. Even stock she gets a full day battery life with heavy use.

Same thing with the original OV's with 2.2.1, you just had to use quick settings or a custom shortcut.

I doubt the battery will go bad soon enough for that to be an issue, and with the fact that you can hold down the power button (just like on a PC) and it will shut off, no matter what, I wouldn't see it being a problem for me. Seriously considering this phone...maybe...I'm so wishy-washy when it comes to large purchases.

do it, I'm glad i did. kinda cool as a learning experience since I've never had an HTC before.

I'm loving my one v so far. Htc makes it easy to unlock fastboot and rooting is super easy to do.

I do love the look and feel of sense but quickly grew annoyed with the lack of options with the stock ics.

I'm running cm9 with a sense theme which is well worth the 99 cents I paid for it! The only drawback is that Bluetooth and 720p recording don't work yet but they will soon I'm sure!

I ran cm10 (jb) for a short while last night but it still needs quite a bit of work before it's a daily driver!

I'm running CM10 right now. Jmz is a great dev! CM10 is fast on its way to being a daily driver.

aw, if i could pick & choose which sense features i wanted... i totally would take the camera and dialer/contacts from sense.

There is one guy who deodexed the stock Sense and released it. It's identical to what you get from the factory except it's more easily customizable as a result. His next project is to incorporate CM9 and it's additional features into it but it's still pretty far away.
