HTC One X Jellybean (at&t)

Not a fan of viper myself, AOSP ROMs are still faster and more efficient. Sense is a hog.

Ya, AOSP is nice, but my set up with viper is smoother and more battery efficient than any other rom I've used so far.

Using elemental kernel is what makes it great

I really can't understand why people are reluctant to root and flash. If a 65 year old retired truck driver with no computer experience can do it and get it to work , any younger generation person should be able to handle it if he or she ONLY READS. The forum at XDA for the model and make of the phone has all the instructions and knowledge to do it successfully by just reading the steps first , then reading again just to be comfortable. The hardest part on my HTC seemed to be the getting the unlock code to work. I found I did it somewhat backwards though and didn't do a backup of the factory setup after flashing TWRP, if I had things would have gone a lot smoother. After a month doing it I now consider myself a semi illiterate professional that can even run ADB and do the commands successfully
Unlocked
S-OFF
Now using ViperXL 3.2.5
ElementalX 5. vanilla
2.41 Radio
Custom ElementalX boot splash
If this guy can get it figured out, any one can. JUST READ and understand what to do.

+1

After testing both AOSP and Viper for some time, Viper does indeed give me more battery life. AOSP was plagued with wakelocks, and something kept on draining my battery intensely while phone was in use.

The new AOKP builds are pretty good so far though, but I'd rather wait until Rohan irons more of the bugs out. JellyBam is a little buggy on its own, as well.

Well finally took the plunge and rooted and installed viperxl!!!! i dont know why i waited so long........but waiting for the jb update was just getting too crazy. ahahahhaha. so far so good. just finishing updating some apps and see how it goes for the next couple of days......so far so good though....

I love how people get convinced to root after reading this thread. It gives me a kind of an inner satisfaction :D

I dunno, man. AOKP is completely bug free.

I was hestitant for a long time, untill I got to reading XDA posts and the forums. I know little about cmd prompts and all that but can find my way around a PC. After doing it I feel like a pro now after a month or so messing around and can usually get myself out of trouble if I find it. Murphey;s Law does prevail at most everything I do, and that don't eliminate the phone. "If something can go wrong , I will make it happen"

Well I have rooted and installed custom roms on all the android phones i have ever owned....and usually it takes me about a little over a month after owning it......i guess i was so busy with everything that i couldnt take 30 min out of my time to root and install a custom rom. LOL.

but lo and behold.....its all said and done now. loving the rom!!! so much customization and everything seems to be working out well so far!!! nothing to report thats been a problem.....Loving it!!!!

NOW it is...

Too late though, quite a bit of us have been enjoying Jelly Bean goodness for a while now. :p
