htc one x plus - lost the speaker volume

Anyone know what to do? I tried a simple shutdown and my settings show volume is on. no apparent reason for this happening.

Are you getting no sound whatsoever, or are ringtones and notifications coming through? You can usually adjust volume separately for ringtone, notification, and media. Go to Settings/Sound/Volumes, and see if any of them are at zero.
