HTC One X Will Not Turn On

i tried holding power button and lower volume button for 15 sec its charging light began to blink . but i tried to switch it on after a power supply of 10 min it is not switching on. plz suggest me what to do...

Hold the power until the lights stop blinking. Then try powering it on normally.

Was about to call the company and send in my phone for repair when I came across this site. Tried pressing power button + volume button for 2 minutes and it worked! Everything's back to normal, thank god! !

Might be a good idea to give us some background on your device, like specifically how you got it into this state.

My all stock unlocked HTC oneX has started doing this same thing. First it started randomly restarting when I plugged it into the wall but it hadnt done that in a few days. Today I plugged it in and the charging light came on and walked away. When I walked back it was dead and it will not turn back on. I have tried the volume rocker and power button for two minutes and that didn't work. I tried just holding the power button for a long time and nothing happened. I tried plugging into my computer and holding power button but nothing happened, i also tried holding both volume and power when plugged into the computer but this also didn't work. I dont know what to do. I bought it 6 months ago brand new. I hope it isnt the motherboard but if thats all you can figure...

I had the same issue when I rooted mine, but when I went to a different Kernel, it took care of it. But I also had the issue with dropping calls as well.

Having the same problem.. Had the phone for a little over a year... was running slow so I uninstalled an app that was taking up a bunch of CPU. One that I had downloaded, not a factory installed app. Also noticed other apps running that were factory installed but I never used. I read that it's a bad idea to unstall these apps even if they don't seem critical and a better idea would be to "disable" them. So I disabled apps like Kindle and YP. within a day the phone was displaying stroke like symptoms... crashing. restarting. boot loops. the whole thing. Eventually simply not turning on,registering a charge, no charge light, nothing. I do get a response when I plug it into the computer however. It makes the usb connect sound that repeatedly makes the usb disconnected sound until I disconnect it.

I've tried the holding buttons down in many combinations. My friend gave me very easy to understand rooting instructions and said this may bring it back to life, but it won't connect to the pc to perform the loop.

Is there anything I can do to revive this thing? I thought it was a pretty okay phone before it died on me.

This worked for me!!! Many Thanks Jess!!!!
Hi

I`ve had this problem a number of times

Simple fix - plug into your pc - hold power button and down volume button for 15 seconds - the low screen will flash a few times - then plug back into the power supply - check to see if red light flashing and leave for 10 mins - then power up - be warned, let it charge up before using or will crash again

jess valantine thank u! it did work, would like to know whta it happened anyways.. anyone knows?! this is my first htc so i hope it works ok cause just love this phone, thanx guys!

Hi everyone,

My HTC One X that was about 1.5yrs old starting shutting itself down and restarting randomly. It also got very slow and wasnt working properly. I took it to the Vodafone store (my contract providers) and they sent it for repair. It came back as being 'unfixable' so they gave me a different, new completely refurbished HTC One X. I was 1 day away from my warranty running out!
3 days later (!!) and my phone has died completely. It will not turn on, the charging light does not illuminate, and it does not show up when I plug it into my PC. It was fully charged when it crashed. I have tried all combinations of power button and volume etc, and nothing seems to do anything to revive it.

Can anyone offer any further help that they may have found please?! Finding it difficult to accept that a 3 day old phone could just be ruined now!

I've tried that but it won't work. I'm receiving the notifications like the ring tone and everything is fine. But the screen will just not turn on. I really need some help :'( The screen is just black but everything was working. I called my phone and I tapped where the answer button is and it answered. It's just that the screen is black T3T Help me please...

Thanks so much. I had no idea how to restart it to even get it to charge again. wheew!
:)

This is my son's older HTC One X, the generation before the M8, so guessing M7? When I plug it in to wall or PC the red light comes on and then the green light even comes on, which I presume means it's charging/charged. But the screen will not power on!!! I have holding the power button 20 seconds, with and without cord plugged in, no luck. Have tried holding power for 20 seconds, then putting back on wall charger for 10 minutes and although green light is on it will not power on. Any other ideas?

Hi,

I've got exactly the same symptoms as the first post in this thread. My HTC One X is completely dead. Happened ramdomly, no water damage, no drops, no mods completely stock. It started doing it intermittently and would eventually come back on once fully charged but then it just died. Tried all the different combinations of holding buttons down for 2 minutes, 10 minutes etc, nothing, no flashing lights, no bottom screen, no LEDs when charging.

I read somewhere that the batteries don't like being too low so I've put a new battery in. Still nothing.

When I plug it into a PC it makes a sound as if a new device has been plugged in then straight away makes an error sound. When I hold down different buttons it makes these sounds about every 5 second continuously.

Jess's solution hasn't worked.

Think it might need a new motherboard as another poster said.

Any thoughts?
