HTC One+

Uh no. The One's camera placed dead last or near the bottom of virtually every phone comparison and then are those folks with the purple haze problem and still more with the autofocus problem. Then there are those that like to actually look at their pics on something other than a 4.7" display in which case the lack of MP becomes painfully insufficient.

I agree to a point. My One has a better camera than any phone I ever had. Closest were the Evo lte and my daughters S3.

I just had my One replaced and I have faint purple tint issues now. Also just bought the G2 and it puts my One to shame as does my friends Note 3. While I've had little exposure to the S4 we gave it a thorough walkthrough before we purchased the LG G2. The comparison shots I made with the S4 and my One weren't real far off but the S4 took better pics almost every time.

The One has a nice camera but it's not on par with other top end devices in my opinion

just took this photo of my dog with my htc one.

we can debate ad-nauseam about the 4UP camera but to me, this is damn fine quality for a mobile phone.

Oh no!
Not this 4 ultrapixel nightmare!!
I switched to S4 because of it (purple haze), the 13mp of the S4 are great to capture lot of details in daylight, you can zoom 3x more the photo once taken

I'm not too fussed with what Phonearena say. They've been wrong countless times in the past. I remember just before the Nexus 5 released, they said there would be two models, one with 16gb memory and a 2300mah battery and one with 32gb memory and a 3000mah battery. They're not a really trust worthy site.

And if they do happen to be true, as long as it's some sort of improvement over the HTC One's camera, I'll be happy. Don't really want the exact same camera, want it to be improved this time round.

I like John V the reviewer though. John veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. :D

Isn't a 5" screen with on-screen software buttons just about the same as a 4.7" with capacitive buttons (actual usable area)?

Just using a ruler on my Nexus 5 screen, excluding the status bar at the top and the on-screen touch buttons at the bottom, there's about 4.5" of actual screen not taken up by some sort of black bar.

Honestly, that's quite a bit of screen. I don't feel like the screen is small or anything. Besides if you're watching content like videos or playing games, the bars can disappear to give the full 5" screen.

I just find the on-screen touch buttons much better than the capacitive or physical buttons phones use.

On G2 and Nexus phones you can ''auto-hide'' them thanks to mods, but still it's ugly

the htc one 4UP camera is a fine camera.

its the megapixels tards using plastic phones who attack it to feel better about the phone they have.
I totally disagree. I am happy enough with my current HTC One, but might be tempted to update when I see final specs. If they're using the same camera I definitely won't.

Damn not a single HTC dude at CES to give us a hint!
I trust more rumors about a 6-8 ultrapixel + a ''normal'' 13mp lens (low light+daylight) we saw before than a ridiculous pitiful 4mp

Yeah it has to be more than 4 UP. They don't seem like they are going to show it at CES. Signs are now pointing to MWC so it looks like another month of rumors, and i expect a big surprise in the camera.

Not good about the camera.

Is LlabTooFeR a reliable source? Not familiar with their work.

The only disappointing thing in that article is the same camera. Even if it's 4mp, I still want it to be better than what the HTC One had. Surely in a year, they could have improved the camera module.

Anyway, Snapdragon 800 I'd be fine with, on-screen buttons I prefer, 16gb internal is ok (would have preferred 32gb without sd-card, but w/e), 2,700 - 3000mah battery sounds good.

Really hope the camera rumours aren't correct though. Shame HTC aren't in the best of financial situations. Could the HTC One+ be the last flagship phone from them?

Labfooter is one of the oldest custom rom maker for HTC on XDA, he probably build relationships with HTC as he many times got official rom sources from them before others.
Now he's not the head of marketing of HTC,so if you ask me HTC want us to believe these rumors about keeping 4mp as long as possible till they reveal a 6mp so we get more happy than if they announce it right now.
You expect 4mp and you get 6mp = you will be happy
You expect 6-8mp and you get 6mp = you will be like ''meh''
