Not quite sure which forum best suits this question, but here goes...
I'm a big fan of HTC Sense, particularly the 3.0 release, as well as their sleeker devices. HTC has, by most accounts, had 3 "big" Android phone releases in the past 2 years or so - EVO, Thunderbolt and the Sensation. At the very least, these are the three phones that, to my eyes and ears, were best reviewed and also appeal most to my needs and wants.
To date, none of those devices have released on AT&T. The EVO is on Sprint, the Thunderbolt on Verizon and the Sensation on TMobile.
Does anyone know of or better understand HTC's philosophy of pumping out a couple of dozen handsets a year, with only one carrier with each device? It seems that many of the devices are very, very similar to one another, with a real hit here and there. Why wouldn't HTC want to take their "hits" and spread them across carriers?
The Sensation is the one and only phone that I truly desire right now. There are a lot of other nice phones out there, across Android, iPhone, and WP7. I'm hoping that AT&T will soon get what is basically a Sensation clone. The day that it hits stores is the day that I'll be able to rid myself of BlackBerry.
