HTC Revenue drops 30%

I think they need to go back and stand by there products. Yes the Evo 4G was and still is a great phone but only after a year they forgot about it. No one want to upgrade there phone every year, at least not me.......

Rezound owners seem to be pretty thrilled with it even coming from another HTC candy bar. Which surprises me. Seems like they are adding hidden gems, just inside the same sort of package so we never actually see the improvements other than spec bumps.

Beats may be a gimmick (YMMV) but at least they now realize phones need a signature of some kind in this heavily drowned Android market.

HTC designs are starting to look dated and tired compared to the Samsungs like the new G-NEX. sleek, all black, rounded, no lines, and no buttons is the way to go. these HTC square slabs with big edged bezels and backings and cheesy ornamentation and faux markings and designs don't look so hot anymore.

the EVO is a year and a half old. HTC and Chou need to go back to the drawing board and start innovating again rather than be lazy and spitting out EVO variants all day long (EVO, Incredible, Thunderbolt, Desire, EVO 3D, Design 4G, etc.) Chou better kick it up a notch and get his ass in gear or he and HTC are going to keep on getting smoked by Samsung and ultimately be put out of business.

When I think about it HTC phones are starting to look dated. Samsung is making some really light phones, HTC phones feel heavy compared to them.
Despite some ppls criticism, alot of ppl like Sense, or are just used to and comfortable with it. Its aesthetically better than touchwiz to me, and I don't have much experience with stock android but it doesn't look appealing. ICS may make none of that matter though which would be a big problem for htc.

I like how heavy my Evo is. Light phones just don't feel right in my hand. Htc still has the best update record of ask the manufactures. Samsung may make light phones with great screens, but I would rather stock with htc and get faster updates. I will admit htc did booty do a great job with the GB update..at lest they did it though. Samsung had proven time and time again it fails with updates more then they succeed.

My wife has an epic and while the display is fantastic the phone "feels" cheap compared to my Evo. Kind of reminds me of the Pre - great OS but cheap, cheap phone.

Ah, the Pre. Down in history as the poster child of poor build quality. Had a love hate relationship with that phone. That's the reason I switched to Android. HTC does have build quality over Samsung, but that's not a deal breaker for most people as long as its at least decent.

I'm highly upset that the evo won't be getting updated anymore and if you get a Samsung, get a nexus. You won't have to worry about long update wait times.
