HTC Rezound vs. Galaxy Nexus

rezound: do you like music, and have friends? buy this one.

nexus: do you need the "furby" of internet forums? buy this one.

p.s. - please stop acting like the nexus isnt getting 100times the advertising that either of the other phones will get. Its already got google ad'ing up the entire internet.. its also got Samsung and Verizon behind it.

but whatever makes you feel smug..

Philly, you're not even getting a GN. I don't understand why you come to this forum to post this stuff especially if you find the Nexus fans so objectionable.

Yes, you see a lot of banners and ads on the net about the Nexus but only because you're visiting a Nexus forum...or have read lots of articles about the Nexus, went to Google's Nexus site, etc. Internet advertising is specifically targeted to the user viewing it and their interests/browsing history. It's not indicative of "Google Ad'ing up the entire internet". More like Google is Ad'ing up your internet experience.

People tried to explain this to him in another thread and apparently he still doesn't grasp the concept. I cleared my cache and cookies on Thursday and guess what? I didn't get ANY Galaxy Nexus ads at ALL until I started coming to the Galaxy Nexus forum again. And while you may not want to believe it philly, I got a TON of Razr ads. When I cleared my cache and cookies and came to Android Central and Droid Life and before coming to the Galaxy Nexus forums all I got was Razr ads.

Call me when the nexus gets tv commercials, online adds are not where the money is at

Was this a serious question or just one of those threads where the title is so hilarious that we respond anyways?
I was thinking that. I swear there's some people that just post a new thread for something to do even if the topic is ludicrous lol

1) Go to the Store after both are out.
2) Pick both up.
3) Buy which one you like.

I have a love-hate relationship with Sense (mostly hate anymore…), so that makes my decision quite a bit easier.

Although, Siri on the 4S is continually gnawing at my mind and credit card hand… So we'll see! Either way, fantastic time to be buying phones!

Are you implying that more Ghz, doesn't give you better performance? A larger dual core processor will always beat a smaller dual core. Hardware optimization is a total fallacy dreamt up by people who actually have a tight grasp on reality. I know many idiots who can prove it just by saying so......Sorry, I'm still laughing at a post I read in a thread earlier similiar to this one ^^^. It absolutely, made my day.

Do you know anything about processors? The clock speed doesn't mean a whole lot if the 'pipes' backing it up are smaller. I could overclock a Pentium IV to 4 ghz, but that doesn't mean it'll be faster than a 2 ghz core processor.

The OMAP is a better processor all around. Period. The S3 is a generation behind the 4460, and its not something that clocking it at 1.5 is going to fix. The newer architecture the OMAP uses negates any advantages the S3's higher clock speed might have.

I've had the Tbolt since launch and the battery life is absolutely bad. For that reason alone, I am going with the GNex. Also, that leaked product comparison that is in another thread shows that the version verizon will be releasing is the 32gb one, which takes away all my concerns about the lack of an SD card slot

Bro, re-read my post, do you see what I did there. 100% sarcasm

I agree, 32GB is plenty for me; in fact it's almost a little too much. I believe in the statement "it's better to have it and, not need it than to need it and, not have it" . :)

Where did you learn about microprocessor architecture - all you have to do is look at Intel Core i3/i5/i7 versus AMD dual core and even quad core. Different architectures can make a HUGE difference in performance - especially the GPU cores. Also, the point about HW acceleration also makes a huge difference because Gingerbread and earlier WERE NOT HW accelerated so ICS will run smoother.

Actually, I think this is the best set of phones ever released by any carrier at the same time. I don't think you will go wrong with any of these phones. They all have Hi-Res displays (at 4.3" I don't think the Rezound HD display will be that much better than qHD on the Razr (I may be wrong)). For those on the fence I think it's a very, very tough call. I do think the Razr will get ICS pretty quickly - there is a reason Motorola went with the OMAP - it is the reference processor for ICS and Motoblur isn't a complete skin job like Touchwiz or Sense anymore - it is mostly a bunch of customized widgets/apps (Like Motocast and enterprise stuff like high security e-mail). I think most people will be happy with any of these phones.

Oh no, not again? Guess you didn't the memo. Reread my comment, it doesn't make sense for a reason, it wasn't meant to make a lick of sense unless your a buffoon. See previous post atop this very page for the big reveal.

As a current Droid Incredible owner I have experience with an HTC unit. For the most part I've been really happy with it but have had a lot of the same issues as others ie.. battery life, slow to get software updates, Sense UI making perfomance choppy. Anyhow, we can argue to death which of the Razr, Rezound and GN have the best unit. One has a better camera, one is thinner and/or faster. Whatever...

As I mentioned I have Droid Incredible and used to have the Blackberry Storm and with these units the one thing I can say for sure is that THE SOFTWARE MEANS EVERYTHING!!!!. A new unit will be out in a month that is bigger, faster and stronger. What really makes a smartphone great is how well the software works and it is clear the Galaxy Nexus will be at the forefront of all software updates for the next 2 years I will be on contract with Verizon. Seems to me the logical choice of phones.

i would of totally picked up the nexus if it had a sd slot that is the true killer for me i travel and i like having my music accessiable and not having to rely on google music
