'HTC Shooter' could be the EVO 3D, some specs revealed

I'm excited for the phone, but since they changed the way their Premier program works, I couldn't get it unless I paid full price (minus, what, $75) ... excited, but sad all at the same time :( ...
I let my cousin use my upgrade last year for his EVO. Time for him to do me the favor!! Sweet lol

Sprint pushed the envelope last year and now phones released this year are evo like....Well sorry ...the evo has just took some steroids...

Luckily I have been with Sprint for over 10 years so I still qualify for the annual upgrade. I love my EVO. I just hope the battery life is better.

they better not tell me i cant upgrade, ill be a more than a little upset with someone in retentions!!!!

Dam I have an upgrade available so I'm getting me one of those...don't get me wrong, I love my EVO specially since getting cyanogen7 but I'm sure those guys would hit the evo2

2 of my friends bought an Evo last year, when checking their upgrade status, it says that they are both eligible this year. I talked to Sprint and asked if that would change and they said no, not until the following year. So if you go to Sprintrebates.com and check your eligibility status now and it says you're eligible sometime this year, it should stay that way. Call or email Sprint and have someone put it in writing for you.

As far as the specs go...hell yeah, love it. More onboard storage and a gig of ram would be awesome too!

Sprint has confirmed on their official Facebook page that people would lose thier upgrade eligibility after April 1st if you were due for your yearly upgrade after said date.

Is anyone concerned about those lame benchmark results? Also, I never realized that the Snapdragon 2 is based the same old Scorpion core that's in the Evo right now....a double does of yesterdays technology with bumped up Ghz to try to keep up with the A9.

Hmm.... I just benched my Evo, and the results are....uhm....pathetic.

CPU: 920
GPU: 543

I really hope it has something more amazing then the 3D i mean 3D is cool but not that cool that i need it on my phone :P

Yep, just go to this page: Sprint Premier Gold and Silver and click the FAQs.

Sprint has been very clear on this and IMHO done everything they could to notify people. However, there will still be those who, come April 1st, are going to be upset that their upgrade eligibility is pushed back to their 22 month date.

As well they should be... Especially people who signed onto Sprint in the last year with that in mind when they made their choice. Who now won't get such a benefit.

I was lucky enough to take advantage of it once for the Pre-->EVO but it's stuff like this that makes me doubt my long-term desire to stay at Sprint. Right now their price is still marginally better than Verizon's and they supposedly stand by "unlimited data" so I may just shrug it out. I understand the cost of subsidies, but at the same time when you're not the king of the hill in your market, you need to make yourself stand out to gain and keep customers.

If they continue their current slide into being functionally and pricewise identical, why should anyone in their right mind stay when Verizon has better phones and service (and an actual LTE network)?

No info on the EVO 3D makes dropping the Evo classic a necessary thing other than "I'm a gadget freak and need the latest and greatest." I just hope the EVO classic community isn't abandoned ...

Please QUADRUPLE the battery life. That is all I want. The EVO with Battery Life like my old Blackberry Tour.

Thats like trying to get the gas mileage of a prius out of a monster truck, it will never happen. I had the Tour before my EVO and it was a POS, the less battery life is well worth it.

A crappy, inefficiently designed 4 banger can have worse mileage than a modern V8, especially during standby time. While the old Snapdragon sucks up juice while the phone is in your pocket, the newer version might have some system in place that really shuts down anything not needed to give it more battery life. Did they ever specify if this quadrupling of battery life is during idle or under stress time? I am guessing it's more when the phone isn't doing anything, because, once you punch that modern V8, the laws of physics take over and it will guzzle down gas at a rapid rate. So I am not expecting a huge improvement, if any while playing Angry Birds.

worthy of an ungrade?

I think the biggest question now that we know WHAT some of the specs are for the EVO 3d is worth an upgrade? now that we get a new phone every 2 years, It is worth cashing in an upgrade now or would it be better to wait for next years technology. I am torn since 3D is cool, but the rest of the specs aren't that amazing over the EVO. I'd hate to cash in the upgrade for just 3D and watch some AMAZING tech come out next year...Like an Iphone 5 or 6!! any thoughts?
