HTC Sync 3.0 problems

I downloaded the HTC Sync 3.0 for Asia Pacific. After installation I found that I've lost the ability to sync calendar and contacts from Outlook 2003.

I'm not keen on music or photos so the new upgrade is pointless without the ability to sync my contacts and calendar.

Anyone can help me resolve this problem?

now after so many install, uninstall and installing the old version, my Desire is no longer recognized by the HTC Sync.
