HTC Sync Manager problem! Phone is not connected.

I have the same problem with my HTC One M7, I got bought it new and I installed sync manager both (andriodhtcsync.apk) on phone and sync manager on my laptop, but the unfortunate still happena. Phone doesnt show on my laptop and have tried even on other laptops but its still the same.
So what could be wrong with my HTC?
By the way, there's lollipop os running

I am facing the same problem. The HTC chat help is not useful. I have a Desire 820 dual sim. Samsung was much better for me....:(

This apk file is present in the internal storage of your phone and needs to be installed.

First go to Start menu > Settings > Security > Check Unknown Sources.

Next go to Start menu > File Manager > AndroidHtcSync2.apk > install.

Connect your phone to HTC Sync Manager, it should be detected now.

I tried this, and I don't have that file; When I check for updates, it says I have the latest one (Kernel version; Andriod 6.0) on a HTC One M9.

I have run out of storage space on my phone and REALLY need to be able to connect.

Hi

please close the sync manager application over the laptop, and uninstall it from your laptop, then delete the HTC directory from the installed location on the laptop and make sure the directory is totally removed, then download and install the latest HTC sync manager and it will work perfectly.

I realize this is an old thread, but since it's still getting posts this month, figured I'd ask for help...to the best of my knowledge, I have tried nearly everything listed in this thread and some others that I've found. Still absolutely no luck when I connect my HTC One M8 to my Windows 10 PC. HTC Sync Manager says "No Phone Connected" and Windows gives a "USB Device Not Recognized" pop up message. Can anyone see if I missed anything or provide further suggestions? I have tried:

  • Installing and uninstalling HTC Sync Manager and rebooting/reconnecting my computer/phone in every order/combination I can think of
  • Different USB cables and different USB ports
  • Start menu > Settings > Security > Check Unknown Sources.
  • Activate Developer Mode and turn on USB debugging
  • Change "Select USB Configuration" in Developer Mode to "MTP (Media Transfer Protocol)" instead of "Charging only"
  • Install the mysterious AndroidHtcSync2.apk originally suggested by Antoine3372. This one was a little more complicated. Like many others I had no luck searching for this file in File Manager. I also had no luck scrolling or navigating to the SD card folder manually (the only top-level options I see in File Manager are "Favorites" and "Internal Storage", even after enabling view hidden files). I found the files on my PC under C:\Program Files (x86)\HTC\HTC Sync Manager where there are 6 files - AndroidHtcSync.apk, AndroidHtcSync1.apk, AndroidHtcSync2.apk, AndroidHtcSync3.apk, AndroidHtcSync4.apk, AndroidHtcSync5.apk. I emailed those to myself and clicked on them in the Gmail app on my phone. They all gave me an "Install" option which I clicked on, but after a couple seconds that would bring up an "HTC Sync Manager X App not installed" screen, until I got to the 5th file which gave me a check mark and "app installed." I tried searching for "HTC Sync Manager" on the Play Store but nothing comes up.

I think that's everything...I'm at a loss. Any further suggestions?

sir,

I have HTC Desire 820 Dual Core 1GB RAM 16GB internal memory and kitkat version 4.4.2 how i connect with my PC.. i want cell screen on my pc but not showing plz help and i also convert in mashmallow version please guide me

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The AndroidHtcSync2.apk install worked like a charm. I'm an old hand on PC's but new on phones. Thank goodness for sites like Android Central.

Guys - I found this old one problems on my HTC 10 EVO. This version dont have File Manager also as dont have AndroidHTCsync2.apk, so I enable USB debugging - then it works. Here is the way how to open Developer options:
Setting-->About Phone---> chose one in there in find "Build" --> tab and tab and tab untill you get a on screen message "You are now developer" --> back to Setting ---> Developer Options --> check in Enable USB debugging --> enjoy.

If you are having this problem, maybe it is because there is something wrong with the HTC Sync Manager app. You can try uninstall the app and then download and install the latest version. If that does not work, maybe you can try an alternative - Android Data Transfer that can transfer and sync almost everything on not only HTC phone but also all mainstream Android devices.
