With my new 3/17/2011 HTC Thunderbolt, each time I enter my vehicle there is a "paired but not connected" condition in the Bluetooth function on the phone. I must go in the function and literally press the "connect" button in order to get the audio system to connect to the phone.

Same vehicle worked fine with my older phone.

Any suggestions to fix?

I had this problem with my car at first too. The trick was to delete my other device from my car.

It seems that the phone always tried to connect to the car by the original one I set up in the car. Once I deleted that one my TBolt finds it and connects right away every time.

If it is Microsoft Sync you're using, as the other poster said, remove the other device, OR make sure the Bolt is the default device and it will connect automatically.

The old phone was LG Dare, Bluetooth no problem. I did delete the pairing (my system would only allow 1 pair at a time). It pairs fine, but when I turn the car off and restart, the pair error occurs. This is a brand new car and brand new phone.

My car is a 2011 gm vehicle. My phone would always pair but not connect. I went to the bluetooth setup on the car and said "delete". I had 3 different things paired.
Here are the steps I would take.

1. delete all paired devices on the car.
2. long hold "your vehicle" in bluetooth and unpair it.
3. go through the pairing process all over again.

It took me a while to figure this out as my car can pair up to 8 devices and my phone was not default because my old one was still set up.You can check this by holding the bluetooth button, say "Bluetooth" then say "list" and it will give you a list of devices set up on your car, then say "Delete" and delete all of them. Most new cars will allow for more than 1 device to be paired to it.
