HTC Thunderbolt PRL

Is there a Way i can update the PRL on my HTC thunderbolt? I read on some other forums that dialing *228 will damage the Sim card. I'm coming from the HTC EVO 4g and we had a option to update The PRL. Or does this not work the same way does the PRL get automatically updated?

i'm from an Evo, too--and after countless tech support calls to fix SMS problems--all the reps kept telling me that the PRL gets updated automatically once you come in range of your usual towers. could be different for Verizon?

Normally on all verizon phones/smartphones, there is no option on the menus, so you dial *228 to update your PRL. With the TB, the LTE SIM takes care of PRL updates automatically. So you never have to or can.
