HTC Thunderbolt Vs. iPhone 4

Very good points, so if i have a LCD HD TV i can stream media/photos from my device to the TV wirelessly kind of like connecting bluetooth to other phones, or do you have to have a cord, even though the thunderbolt will have a HDMI out, my understanding is it can be done wirelessly through DLNA

I don't think the Thunderbolt has an HDMI out

OK Guys....here's my tale. I love my Evo, but I picked up the VerIphone 4 yesterday just to satisfy my curiosity and I am taking it back today. Granted the Iphone has the slickness and smoothness of the Apple DNA, but it feels like a toy in the hand. Not only that, but my monthly bill would have been 50% higher than my present plan with Sprint...for 3g service and a soon to be obselete device....Stick with Android - its the future...

it does not have hdmi, tho it supports dnla wireless to a dnla tv. or you can buy the htc dnla adapter for your tv. id rather be wireless an control sitting on the couch than get up to my tv to press buttons on my phone. the hdmi isnt a big deal at all to me

I was wondering if Iphone has the voice action control that Android has. I think that is a very useful feature especially in the car with my little girl. I can make calls and send sms messages without taking my eyes off the road.

I think the Iphone is great because the OS was designed for the hardware and it only comes one way. Thus the build quality and smooth operating of the OS. Android is made to work across many platforms and interact across the same platforms. If a new android phone comes out with an App or feature I like I know the Devs will have it accessible to me in no time. I have become a bit of a phone junkie since android and have not looked back.

Just my unorganized 2 cents.

I think the iPhone does support some sort of voice commands, but not nearly to the extent that Android does (at least the last time I played with one).

I personally don't have a problem with the iPhone considering i never have one, i do love android and would not give it up, which is why i'd consider an iPhone and a Android Tablet........ but who knows, that's my only debate, my mind is made up on the Xoom over the iPad for sure, but maybe i need a iPhone just to support my curiousity (haha) maybe not. I appreciate all the replies and different opinions though!

Only major issue that would be a deal breaker for me is if the Verizon iPhone don't have Mobile Hotspot/ Tethering, which i believe i read somewhere it did.

I couldn't resist the temptation this weekend. So I went out to the local verizon store and walked out with a 32gb iphone.

I've been a long time user of Android OS starting with the HTC Eris phone, moved to a OG Droid, than to a Droid X and finally with a Samsung Fascinate.

A few things that I where so DUMB about a overly hyped Iphone....

-Notification system SUCKS or lack of
-STATIC icons on the front screens and nothing more
-Navigation is not a true GPS antenna like Android phones.
-BORING interface after the first hr....
-no updates, only through Itunes
-Not able to download music like GTunes
-Google integrates fairly well into iOS but no where as nice as a true Google experience. For example google voice on iOS.

Items I really like about the iphone:
-The responsiviness of the screen
-The display is down right jaw dropping
-The feel of the device, feels like a $1000 phone
-BUT thats where it all stops. Android FTW!!!!

Even the wife who has wanted an iphone for several years. Used the phone for all of 10-15 mintues and realized just how DUMB the phone is compared to her Fascinate..... That's saying alot for a non-techie person.

I really miss Android, it is a MUCH more powerfull OS for sure.
Now I really are trying to decide WHEN I should return the Iphone to wait for the TBOLT. Do I return the iphone now or wait till the 24th???

My calculations are: I bought the iphone on the 12th of February, if I wait till the 24th that will still be within my 14 day window and shouldn't have any trouble returning the iphone4 at that time to exchange it for the TBoLT.
Or do I just return the DUMB iphone now and put up with my backup of a old POS Blackberry pearl!!!!????? :-\

These were my experiences as well and I returned after 24 hours, although my wife loves hers and would not give it up. I would almost describe the iphone as the most advanced and polished dumb phone made.

Same Boat my man, i bought the iphone on the 11th and just playing with this toy until the real phone comes out, but from what ive read it takes up to 24 hrs to reset your upgrade so im going to return early so im ready for the Thunderbolt

what sucks is the $70 restocking fee...

Where's this comming from?

When I purchased the Ipoop4 on contract Saturday I specifically asked the rep if the restocking fee was the same $35. He said yes sir and even noted it within my account.

I generally call it the iJunk but iPoop work just fine for me. LOL

Generalg, I've used the iPhone before and I'm 1000% in agreement with you. It doesn't even deserve the smartphone name as far as I'm concerned.

Well I did it. I returned the iPoop today! Couldn't stand it anymore. C'mon TBOLT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
