HTC will not update. Error 410

I just bought a new HTC 10 on Ebay. It will not update. It downloads the update, but when it installs, it only gets to 25%. I then get a red triangle with a ! inside and error 410.

I contacted HTC chat, and the guy said it was a google error, and he did not know what to do. Sorry!

My old HTC 10 works fine and has all the updates.

How can I get the updates to work.

The last security patch was Jan 2017. Software 2.41.605.12

Welcome to Android Central! Are you installing the update over-the-air, or downloading the file from a website? Have you already tried wiping the cache partition? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-25804

Yes, I have already wiped the cache and did a reset. I contacted Verizon Tier 2 support. They tried to push an update, and the phone crashed.

The phone is locked and seems to work fine.

The seller is being an *** and just wants to give a partial refund.

I have Nougat 7.0 and seems to work fine, but I want 8.0. I think I need new firmware, but I have no idea what to do or how to get started. I have rooted my phone before, but this is the extent of my experience.

Is the phone worth keeping. Is it possible to get Oreo on this new phone.
