IIRC, the Thunderbolt uses a newer Snapdragon that performs much better than the EVO. Still not much of an upgrade IMO (HTC should work a little harder if they don't want to be seen as rehashing the Desire HD/EVO with every new phone they make, maybe even overclock the processor like Droid 2 vs. Droid 2 Global), but still a great device if you're on Verizon. Advice to the poster who said he wished the Nexus was on Verizon; the Thunderbolt is better in some respects than a Nexus, ROMs will keep you up to speed with the latest OS updates (as if HTC didn't do upgrades pretty fast themselves), and I'd just go out and get that. Don't worry about the Nexus.the thunderbolt is the evo but instead 4g wimax, it has 4g lte.everything in specs wise is the same 1ghz processor,8gig back-camera,1.3 front and same type of screen....even comes with the same memory card size
Thank-you.You Sprint customers are lucky. I hope Verizon gets it soon and hope they updated the processor.![]()
Not soon enough!
Probably wont happen, but I think my perfect phone would probably be the Nexus S + 4g and dual-core... would be so amazing.
Just want to say build quality != metal. The Nexus S actually feels fairly nice and solid in the hand, survives falls and is a beautiful phone. Idk about the all the unqualified Samsung hate. I guess it's the trendy thing to do?
god, it's irritating to see people treat Samsung like the plague when we're talking about a Nexus device. If you don't like Samsung, fine. Get a case. File their name off the back. But don't treat it like it's something that actively cripples the device when Samsung isn't a factor past the hardware itself, which is quite decent.
I don`t believe a word of what you said in the first place, if realy you like to be with VZW you should be with it...Stop crying and be where you find it right for you... But you are complainner anyway.
I just can't get excited for the Sprint Nexus S. To me its bad news. The fact that they are "newly" releasing another Galaxy S variant when the Galaxy S II will probably be on other carrier around the same time makes me sad. How far out does this push the SGS II for sprint? I mean don't get me wrong I would love Google's nexus phones on sprint' just not 6 months (by the time it arrives) after they were released. Especially not when its successor will also be out.
One of the reasons I dislike the iPhone so much is because I don't like to have the same thing as everyone else. At this rate though I am going to end up with the Evo 2/3D just like 90% of the rest of the Android Smartphoners on Sprint. Give me (current gen) choices Sprint!
really? why would you want a samsung on sprint? I have sprint and would rather much be with Verizon, if it wasn't for the price.
They are getting the thunderbolt that is far superior to any phone on the market.
Samsungs are kind of cheap from my experience and just doesn't seem as "sturdy" as HTC phones.....it even beats motorola phones, which is slightly inferior to HTC phones IMO
Has it occurred to anyone the timing of these new devices being announced and the timing of Sprint's changes to their Sprint Premier/upgrade program are suspect?
Me thinks a lot of Sprint customers are going to be pissed off when they find out they are no longer upgrade eligible after 4/1 and then both these devices drop.
And seriously, WTF is it about viewing angles that you people need? Are you lying flat doing yoga alongside your phone and just *need* to be able to look over and see the weather animations on the Sense widgets? I don't get it. When does one ever not want to look at their phone from off angles?
