HTV Evo 4G lte wont tether 3G! HELP!

I have an Evo 4G lte but my city doesn't have 4G lte yet. I have all the wireless tether apps and can't get it to tether over my 3G connection. No matter what I do, upload and download are both stuck at zero, and my ps3 and computer dont even pick up that its broadcasting. Like they dont recognize its even there. Help please.

1) You must be rooted to tether

2) You should be using the most current version of WIFI Tether not wireless tether. WIFI Tether can be downloaded from the market.

3) You must go into settings in WIFI Tether and choose Generic ICS under device-profile.

This should solve any issues.

PDAnet works fine on the EVO 4G LTE, no root required.

FoxFi does work as long as you don't need to have WPA turned on, at least on my EVO 4G LTE

Hmm. I still can't get this working on my HTC ECO 4G LTE.

I've tried all combinations of the MSS and Routing Fix options. Initially I mistakenly chose Device profile of HTC ECO 4G instead of Generic ICS. That didn't work well at all. Now with Generic ICS, devices can successfully connect written the wifi but not the Internet. Devices can ping each other but not the internet.
