Huawei mate 10 pro updates in UK

I'm not far away myself. I do really like the phone it's just silly things starting to niggle away at me now. It was fine at first but the little things add up and turn into big frustrations.
I normally switch phones every 3-6 months anyway and sell the phone to put towards the new one but the second hand price for these is awful and even worse for recycling so I'll be keeping it as a backup phone or use it as my work phone. It's too good to give away for next to nothing. It's even put me off getting the P20 Pro because most of the niggles on this are on that too. I'll probably be getting the Pixel 3 next or even go to the dark side and get the new larger iPhone X in September. That way I'll still have an android phone too

I absolutely could have written every word of that. I blow hot and cold with this phone but the annoyances can really grate. Can't buy a Fitbit because it's not supported is another one.

I reckon I'll probably keep this for a few months but, even saying that, I'd be intrigued to see what the Mate 11 Pro brings....

Edited to add: just seen the prices that the recyclers offer...WTH?!

Yep I won't be touching another Huawei for at least two irritation next device is Pixel 3

I wouldn't say it's a love hate thing, more of a 'love, get slightly annoyed' thing. But it can build up.

Still, for its qualities, I do think the price is now pretty damn good given that it's flagship material. Feel almost guilty for dissing it!

That was definitely a factor when I switched from the Note 8. If both phones were still similarly priced I wouldn't have jumped. Side by side the Note 8 to me is still better overall but when my insurance money came through for my smashed Note 8 the Mate 10 Pro was £350 cheaper so that was absolutely the deciding factor. Paying full price for it would make me even more frustrated with it's issues too.

I'm in agreement of most things said above! a bit of a love hate relationship with the phone. For me it's the Bluetooth issues I'm getting with my car stereo that's driving me mad. No consistency at all when trying to connect. Very frustrating!
Like you guys I did also glance at recycling prices and was not impressed!
Oh well, I change phones every 6 to 12 months and part of the reason is to experience what different phone makers have to offer, the good AND the bad....

Not that I'm saying this is a bad phone, far from it. Just that each phone I try has different positives and negatives.

just got march security patch ota here in UK (sim free) not had no issues come in at 400+ mb. mate 10 pro

No longer able to use voice for Google Assistant at all now. Tried every fix and remedy out there and nothing brings it back. Only thing left to try now is Hard Reset and that's a depressing thought and I really don't want to. Definitely speeding up my decision to move on now

If yours is the same that's maybe a good thing. Maybe it's an issue for Google Assistant on all our phones that'll be fixed on their side soon. I'll leave the Hard Reset for now and see if it sorts itself out soon. I tried it on my LG work phone and it worked fine so definitely not affecting all phones

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Must be some issue on Google's side.

When I start doing hard resets, it's almost a given that my next phone is an iPhone!

This reminds me of Windows phones. Everytime something got fixed something else got broken. Always chasing some bug lol

Doubt it. Thread over on xda has people with same problem. It's a bit of a mess.

I managed to get mine working again by using the 'Backup' app and restoring just the Google App. I just can't get it to wake the from sleep again like what happened right after the last update.

Crap situation. Love the battery and this phone is tantalisingly close to being excellent but the longer I spend with it, the more annoying I'm finding some its quirks.

I love so much about Android but there is always some mess up with the way manufacturers implement things which means I'm forever chasing bugs, stupid battery drain etc etc.

Would still have my Pixel 2 if it wasn't for the fact that its camera hated my LED lights at home which caused massive strobing in videos. A very sad dealbreaker.

I would honestly change this tomorrow if there wasn't a likelihood that my wife would kill me as I only bought it a few weeks ago.

Mine keeps reverting itself to being off and greyed out everyday so I have to keep restoring the app from a backup. It seemed to break right after a Google app update a few days ago so I'm still not sure if it's the phone or the app that's the issue. Either way it's an absolute pain and it's not happening on my other phones.
