Huawei P30 Pro Review

Don't know if GPS interest you, but P30 should be one of the few new phones having dual frequency GNSS reception, giving accuracy down to potentially few decimeters instead of 5m on traditional GPS chips.

If you've got time for it, could you try to have it lying outside for some time and watch if it got any L5 or E5b numbers in the CF column of GPS test (must be this app to be sure), and what is best accuracy you get ?Screenshot_20190405_081035.jpegScreenshot_20190405_080916_com.android.vending.jpeg

had the phone for the last few days, apary from the magnificent camera, it is very relaxing not to have to constantly worry about the battery. also coming from an s7 I do not find major differences in the software, my only worry were the notifications but with the AOD it is resolved. also in my country we got the watch as a gift and it is great. i didnt realize how useful a smartwatch is. i have my mob on the counter away from kids and get notified on my watch, superb!!!!

I love digging into stuff like this, so sure, I did. Take note it is has been overcast here in Johannesburg, we've had rain most of today.

Here is the reading I got:

Battery Life continues to be epic on this device, I am getting 9-10hours SOT consistently on the P30 Pro

Worried about the potential lack of updates and security patches when getting it on contract (EE) in the UK.

Not sure about the UK but in general Huawei has committed to delivering security patches every two months. Wasn't quite that way when we first got our P20 Pro here in Canada but as of late they've been hitting their marks. There is the usual "rolling out in stages" as our P20 Pro received its March Patch like 10 days ahead of our P20s, picked up the latter in Feb so fairly new.

UK always seems to be last. I always buy unlocked phones and my P10 then Mate 10 Pro were always last to get updates and security updates. The Mate 10 Pro is still stuck on December update in fact. I'm hoping my Mate 20 Pro that I've just moved to will be better but I'm already seeing a lot of guys on here already ahead of me on updates. I'm sure they'll be more regular at least. International version always seems to be front of the queue.

WOW, that is phenomenal!
I am simply blown away. The Mate 20 Pro had amazing battery life but this has taken it a step further.

This is exactly where Smartphones should be in 2019, Battery Anxiety should be a thing of the past, even in terms of charging, one should never worry about waiting too long.

Yes, I couldn't agree with you more!

excellent Tsepz, I only had the phone for a few days but I never manage to get it under 50 percent. it takes ages to deplete and with a 20 minutes boost it is up again, i love it

Ha... I use my phone quite heavily... often a lot of photos and a lot of phone calls at work... It'll be interesting to see what I can get out of it.

Anybody noticing a slight rattle when tapping the top right area of the display?

It is very minor but is certainly not consistent with the rest of the display. It is the part of the screen that will be sitting adjacent to the rear cameras so maybe it is the camera mechanism?

Anybody else or just me being over fussy?

That'll be the OIS mechanism for the camera. It's the only physically moving part and it's pretty normal to hear it rattling a little. My Mate 10 Pro was certainly noticable. Can't say I've noticed it yet on the M20 Pro yet though
