AC Question

Hi,
I have P8 Lite for two days and I experience issues with microphone on every call.
It might be the noise cancellation as it's mentioned in Google's forum for nexus 6.
The symptoms are exactly the same but it might be also a hardware problem.
While talking to someone he could barely hear me and said it sounded like I was very far away or muffled

Can someone tell me if has experienced the same problem or it's just me?

Hi, if the phone is just new I would look at returning it for a different device, you don't want to keep it for a while and not be able to return it for a new one.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you checked the primary mic opening to make sure it isn't blocked by anything, like a case or lint?

Also, does it work normally if you're on speakerphone or wired/Bluetooth headsets?

Thank you for your answer. Yes it's new but it's taken from my telecommunication company and it needs to be sent for diagnostic there is no option for replacement before that. Thanks again :)

Thank you for your answer.
We made few tests with our engineers (colleges of mine) responsible for VOIP services and Video Conferencing and it comes out that the second microphone responsible for the noise cancellation is incredibly sensitive. When it's moved or I scrub on it with finger it's almost impossible for the other side to hear me. In noisy environment or on speakerphone it works perfectly and no other sounds, except my voice, delivered to the other side.
Unfortunately I don't have Bluetooth headset for tests.

Does the secondary mic only cause problems with VOIP calls? What about normal voice calls?

Are you able to turn off noise cancellation?

Hi there,
I've been having the same problem with a P9 Lite. I found that this only happens when I am using the actual telephone itself. So for me the solution is to close any other communication apps like Viber, Skype or messanger that may be running before I make a call. It looks like these apps come into some kind of conflict with each other.

In any case this works for me.

I haven't checked it systematically, but I have the impression that it is Viber that causes the problem. Hope this helps.....

I just bought an Huawey P8 lite 2017, and the microphone doesn't work...I don't hear people when they are talking; just works on alta voz (Loudspeaker)...now i put it on charge and It works but not perfect...this very bad...Is this an issue with this model?

Your not hearing the other person isn't the mice, that would be their not hearing you. If you don't hear them, but the speaker works (for music, notification tones, etc.), bring it back (or ask for an RMA so you can send it back if they're not local to you). It's possible (but very unlikely) that it's a problem with the carrier, so check with them first, but it's probably something wrong in the phone.

I have the sale problem. P8lite 2017: people dont hear me bit with loudspeaker its ok. For huawei service is all ok! Incredibile. Never again Huawei!poor quslity phones!

Welcome to Android Central! If people can only hear you on speakerphone or with a wired/Bluetooth headset, then your primary mic is either blocked or faulty. Have you already checked to see if the primary phone mic opening is clear of debris?

Hello, I have same problem. People can't hear me talking, the voice is breaking like I have a bad signal, but it's fine on loudspeaker. The thing is that I have already replaced the microphone and cleaned all dirt from the cover, but the problem still last. I also did the factory reset to be sure it's not a problem of some update, but nothing helped. Please does anyone knows what else it could be? Thank you

Is this really a hardware issue? My dad got this phone and yes, the call quality seems to suck...until he hands it off to someone with a voice that has a higher pitch than his. Their voice will sound crystal clear, on the same call. It seems more likely that Huawei phones have noise cancelers that might actually be interfering with peoples voices that are in the lower spectrum.
