Hub Killed Home?

Ok I realize this may be a coincidence, but we recently picked up the hub and since my better half linked our Google home to it we cannot get the home to respond to voice commands. After checking the basics (mute button on home, wifi, etc), we eventually did a full factory reset on the Google home. Still no luck. This was eventually followed by a factory reset on the hub.

Now we have a working hub and a non functioning Google home. According to the Google home app, however, the home device is active. But it just won't respond to any commands... Any suggestions?
