Rogers Galaxy S8 Hub not showing asterisk when new messages arrive on S8+

Guys, first time Samsung owner here (although my wife has the S7).
Was a Blackberry guy for life and even had the Priv and DTEK60 (so I'm used to Android now) and the Blackberry Hub always worked fine and always indicated new messages with an asterisk above the icon.

There are 5 email accounts, Whatsapp, Linkedin, BBM, Text.... all linked into the Hub.

I have contacted Blackberry and they want a bug report and all that... I don't see them fixing the problem....

Who else has the Blackberry Hub running on their S8 or S8+?

I use BB Hub and notifications work fine, but I am using Nova Prime with Tesla Unread for notifications. I have not tried the stock launcher.

I'm running the Hub+ suite on my S8+. All but the launcher (at the moment).

That red BlackBerry splat that you're used to will only show on the Hub when you're using the BlackBerry launcher. Not with Touchwiz, etc.

Gdwheel mentioned Nova/Tesla unread. This is a great combination and replaces that BlackBerry splat with an actual unread count. And you can play with them colour and size of the unread counter as well. It's nifty!

Tesla is good but it only seems to work on emails. Whatsapp, SMS and other apps do not seem to work which is a little annoying.

I do not use Whatsapp, but Tesla seems to work for all of my apps.

I found that unread counts were not enabled for many apps. Open the app, then scroll down and make sure your apps are toggled on. I had one that I had to toggle off, then on again.
