No problems with the phone for over a month. Now suddenly im losing 10% battery every 20 minutes. Even in stamina mode its terrible. Ive been noticing my phone overheating a lot lately especially when wireless charging which seems to only overheat my phone to the point where its warning me about the heat level and it doesnt even charge. Any help would be appreciated...

Welcome to the forums. What is the biggest consumer of the battery in Settings>Battery?

Its saying that Google play services and screen are taking up the most at almost 30% each. At one point amazon appstore was taking up a lot but it isnt showing there anymore

Edit: Google fit was also causing a lot of battery drainage but I had uninstalled it. I used to not be able to kill this battery and id get through the day with 45+% left.

Play service can be tricky to post n down. Have you tried a reboot?

Restarted earlier in the day and it seems to still be draining fast even in stamina mode

In my experience, whenever Play Services starts to eat up loads of battery it's best to uninstall updates (i.e. reset the Play Services back to factory condition) then re-update it to the most current version via the Play Store. I also reboot afterwards and, if supported, load into recovery mode and clear cache partition from there. This process seems to fix my issue every time so it's probably worth a try.

That sounds like a good idea I will try that and edit post afterward. Though now play services isnt even listed under battery consuming apps. Now its Google services. And if anyone has any explanation as to why my phone gets red hot when wireless charging at night and Its only on like 45% when I wake up that would be helpful.

Yes, please let us know how it works out for you. As for wireless charging, I noticed that the phone gets much hotter than any other Qi-enabled device I've used. But if it's extremely hot and not charging, then it definitely sounds like you've got an issue with a rogue app that's keeping your device awake and/or is actively running in the foreground. Try uninstalling then reinstalling Play Services; if that doesn't work, then try uninstalling apps starting from the one you installed most recently (to the best of your recollection). If all else fails, back up your data and do a factory reset. Troubleshooting battery drain issues is a headache at best, and a nightmare at worst... hopefully you'll be able to get that sorted out quickly.

It still seems to be draining quickly even after that fix. Now im wondering about the app I got recently "lastpass." it gets kind of annoying popping up often too. Does anyone know if this app couod be killing my battery? The permissions dont seem to indicate it would keep my phone draining.

Edit: battery still draining more than 10% an hour after uninstalling lastpass. Is there any kind of report I can generate and post here?

Went to work this morning and woke up around 5:30am. Used it for minimal time for just texting and such. I had Bluetooth on too because of my moto360. Ive recharged it fully from dead before with the original cable and power brick, uninstalled apps from right around when this started becoming an issue to the present, and it went to 6% in just 6 hours.

The small spike upward was my charging it on the way home from work. I absolutely should not be having this problem after only a little over a month of owning it. I contacted xperia support and they were no help.

From that battery graph, there is an app(s) (rogue) or otherwise that is sucking down your battery. If you know of GSam battery monitor, download it from the play store and it will tell you of the culprit that's keeping your phone active. Also a weak mobile signal will deplete your power. Notice you're on WiFi almost all the time.

I'm having the same issue with my sony xperia z3v. I've enjoyed fantatstic battery life since I bought it back in September but I noticed on June 13th (Saturday) that I was experiencing a 10% battery life loss every hour if my phone was idle. I had not installed any new apps in a couple of months and my app history showed that recent updates had occrered to Google app and Google play services. Sure enough, when I check the battery status Google Play services is eating up over 40 % (more thatn even the display) and sometimes spikes to 70% (see attached screenshot). Since this is a core service I do not have the option of uninstalling updates.
I chatted with a sony rep and they want me to factory reset the phone so I'm going to have to back up everything ad try that. Does anybody have any otehr ideas?

I tried the battery app but there are no rogue apps. It seems its just Google services eating my battery. Was it a recent update? Will lollipop be worse?

The graph in Post #10 says that you had virtually no mobile signal all day and only a minimal signal for small periods of time. That runs the transmitters at full power, generating lots of heat and eating lots of battery. I think your problem, unless the antenna is disconnected or the receivers are bad, is the wrong carrier - they seem to have no signal where you are.

Strange that you are still having this issue. I know I suggested uninstalling updates to Play Services and re-downloading them last time, but have you also tried uninstalling/rebooting/updating the Google App?
