Hunting the elusive data/power cable

Anyone manage to find a source for data cables yet? My research says it's not a standard connector (most like an ipod connector, but the stops on the sides are flipped),
Figure they'll hit stores in the next month or so, but no sign yet

Verizon is selling both the cable (with the wall charger, which is just a 115VAC to 5VDC rectifier with a USB socket on one end) and a car charger on their website.

The stores around Seattle had no "just data cables" so I had to get the wall charger with the detachable USB data cable.

I went to root the Tab and found that this new "data/power cable" I got from Verizon wouldn't work. It must not be shielded properly or something but it kept failing. Yet when I used the data cable from Samsung, it worked flawlessly.
