I accidentally uninstalled SWYPE after the new update. The beta won't work anymore. Is there any way to get SYWPE re-installed or re-do the OTA update? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I'm a novice here, how do I do a hard reset?

From the home screen, menu > settings > Privacy, it's under there.

You will lose all your user data, just a heads up if you need to back anything up.

Did you have the Swype beta installed before the OTA? I'm just thinking the new swype is probably a system app that cant' be un-installed that easily.

you can only uninstall the beta of Swype, you cant uninstall the Swype that came with the update. did you enable Swype after the update?

There wasn't an option to enable Swype after I uninstalled it. I might be incorrect, but unless my eyes were playing tricks on me, I didnt see it as an option to enable on the settings screen. I guess I have a date with my EVO tonight...these factory settings suck!

There aren't any settings to enable Swype, just to configure it.

Because HTC considers this release to have a tested version of Swype, there is no "enable" because it's not a keyboard from an external source. It is part of the ROM.

this happened to me.. just soft reset (pull battery with phone still on and running) and then check again... itll be there.. just worked for me
