iphone user looking for suggestions on which Android phone to buy

After another run-in with iTunes last night (I loathe itunes) and after having to reset my Apple account again, I am fed up. Would like some suggestions about Android phones. My biggest hesitation about Android is security-my impression over time that Android OS is less secure than iOS, but this is subjective and I'm not sure it's true. I suspect that while Android may not have the 'walled garden', a lot of the so-called security issues result from user carelessness.

Yes, as long as you observe sensible precautions you should be okay.
With regard to specific devices - of which there is a vast selection - what features are important to you? Or do you want something as near to an iPhone as possible...and if so, which iPhone?

If security is the major concern, I would suggest the 5x or 6p which will get security updates the quickest

The Nexus 6P, it's has the newest everything, Android version, security updates, specs, etc... I would say the same about the 5x but I haven't looked it up yet. An iPhone user switching to Android would likely love the 6P.
