I am thinking of buying the Sony xz1 in black. Can anyone tell me what the grip is like?

Yes, I’ve thought of buying the Compact version. I’ve handled it and it’s not slippery, but I personally would need a case because of the sharp corners, which I find uncomfortable.

Mine is pretty grippy for a solid slab of metal. It is definitely less slippery than an iPhone. As long as your hands are not super dry, you should be good. It IS however super thin and as said, the corners can be a little pokey. But yeah this thing feels sooo premium without a case. I may get a skin though

I have the Black, it's a matte type finish and i find the grip good. As per the previous comments the corners are quite angular in the hand but i quite like that.

Have the black compact one, which comes with a matte and plastic backside. Still doesn't look cheap. Can't tell how happy I am Sony came back to the plastic, compared to my Z3 compact, which had a glass back, what was now, after 3 years in use, totally broken. Only the silicone case for the backside put the fon together since one year, lol. I read the bigger XZ1 back is made from Aluminum.

I'm strongly considering it in either Black or Moonlit Blue.
