I want to look up my notification log, and in order to do that one needs to find it in settings widget in widget option after touching and holding press on screen. This phone has after a factory reset and an update Android 8.0. How do I get my Settings Widget back? Any help? I have been under suspicion that my phone was cloned or somehow hacked or being remotely controlled, hence the factory reset and change of all password. Need guidance with this!

Hi,welcome!
If you did a factory reset and changed your password you should be ok , system logs not sure you can get on older device like yours but you did the proper steps you mentioned.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you saying that you're no longer able to access your widgets at all, or that you just can't find the Settings widget any more?

And I remember seeing the settings widget weeks ago, right after the factory reset. I'm seeing the smartthings app appearing two times in my app list, which freaks me out because play store and galaxy store shows I have still yet to download smartthings on my phone, when I download it, it shows 3 smartthings app then...I'm getting more and more paranoid by the minute...please help. Should i root my stupid phone?

It's possible Smart Things was added as a "preinstalled" app with the last update -- I'd have to defer this to someone else with an S7. Are you sure you're still on Oreo, or did the phone get updated to Pie (Android 9)?

Also, is there a Samsung or System category in your widget list?
