i cannot open my playstore app

when i try to open my playstore app my gmail is asking for a redeem code and i dont no why as i havent tried to buy anything

Welcome to Android Central! Which device? Are you logged into your Google account on the phone? Go to Settings>Accounts-Google. Do you see your Google account there? If you're not logged into your Google account, you might get that message.
