i cannot see my messages after a certain while

Hi guys, i have had this problem ever since i bought the phone. i receive messages fine until i reach certain amount. after a certain amount i recieve the message but when i open up the thread it just shows me the last message it stopped on. and in the message inbox the contact does not go to the top i have to scroll down and find the person. i result in deleting the whole thread so i can start to see that persons messages again.

Are you using the stock app? If so the deleted messages setting could be messing with it.
