I can't get my recent call history on new Android 11 phone...

Yes I did. Everything came across fine. All aps incl the phone app (with contacts, favorites) but not the call history
Understand, but sometimes from different andriod version some things get glitchy coming to newer Android version .

I know it's been days and not to beat a dead horse over this but...

When you've done the factory resets has it been like the first time you set up the phone and it records the first call and nothing afterwards or has it completely stopped, so that now it isn't even tracking the first call? I ask this because you mentioned that it recorded the first call when the device was new but stopped shortly after that. Factory resetting the device should make it appear as new and I'm just curious if it exhibited the same behavior. It might lead to a key piece we're all missing.

Have you tried another phone app? These are sometimes called "dialers". There are several with decent ratings at the Play Store and just to give you an idea of the type of app I'm talking about there is one called, Phone + Contacts and Calls, that doesn't have too many bad reviews and 10M downloads. The reason I mention this option is because I've seen other times when a sock app is acting up and installing a third party app corrects the issue but later returning to the stock app seems to get it working as well. It's kind of a long shot but as I can see from the responses since I last looked at this thread you've kind of tried most everything else. Even if it doesn't restore functionality to the stock app but works to give you a call log it may be worth it.

The answer to your question just couple of posts ago... If a device is glitching in such a way that a basic functionality is broken or not working most people would likely return the phone as defective and try to get another one. Not sure if this would be an option for you since we don't know what your carrier's policy is for returns, as in how long before it isn't just a simple return and other fees and charges start to apply.

Best wishes.

Hi VidJunky

Thanks for your continued interest and various suggestions.
I have been using the phone even though with no call history that was quite a bummer.
I tried all the suggestions that had been put forward in this thread without success except the factory reset.
Until today came the final straw. The phone didn't stop ringing on either incoming or outgoing calls until restarted/shutdown.
That was the straw that broke the camel's back and I did a factory reset immediately without attempting to save/transfer anything.
And guess what? Everything seems to work OK. What a relief!!!!
Thanks to everybody who offered advice.
Cheers from downunder.:)
