i can't install rom, plz help

i have a rooted evo with 2.1 i have rooted it with clockwork and i wanted to change my rom to either Fresh or Baked Snacks. So i put the rom on my cd card, powered off, hold vol. down and power, then i got into recovery, power and vol. up. now im in recovery mode, i wipe data and cache then i click "apply sdcard:update.zip" then it shows "installation aborted". whats my problem?

p.s i have only 4 options to choose from in recovery

I just rooted this weekend and I installed ROM Manager from the Market for $3.99 and was able to basically one click install Baked Snack to my EVO in a matter of a couple of minutes..... Was a lot easier than the other way (IMO) but you can't flash every ROM with ROM manager...

I also did some thing wrong and I can't flash CM6 and I have to go back and use Simple Root to get it taken care of but so far I am happy with Baked Snack and I am leaving it alone for now...

Edit: Fresh is also an option with ROM manager...

Weird.. Make sure three only zip you have in the sd is the one ROM you want to install. Also make sure you removed whatever files that were pushed into the sd from the downgrading and rooting process before you put the other ROM in the sd

In recovery just chose "install Zip from SD Card" then "Chose Zip from SD Card" then pick the ROM zip and chose install.

robbie thanx for the vid, i used clockwork to root my evo but clockwork will not show up when in recovery mode.

Big, i dont have those options in my recovery, all i have is apply from sd, wipe cache, reboot, and wipe data

sounds like you aren't rooted. clockwork is not a root method. do you have a white screen when you boot into recovery using the volume down/power button combo? if so does it say recovery somewhere? if so what happens when you choose that option?

Just try Rom Manager, that should fix it.

iam, yes i have the white screen, when i choose recovery, it takes me to the little icon like an "!" next to a pic of the phone. then i hit vol. up +power and it takes me to the black and blue recovery screen. i think i am rooted because i had t0sted rom and used the wireless tether with it.

that symbol makes me think that you need to reflash recovery. somehow it got removed.. the easiest way is to use rom manager from the market. try that and let us know what happens. if it asks for superuser permission say yes.

Awesome... I actually like Baked Snack so far.... Battery life is awesome, over clock seems to make the phone pretty fast and I love not having all that Sprint Bloat Ware.....
