Hello, new member here after this thing occured.
When I try to record a video hitting the "video" button an error pops up saying "An error occured".

I tried in selfie mode also but the result was the same. I can take pictures without any issue.
I do have some GBs free so it is not a memory issue.
What can possible be wrong?

Thanks.

Try it in safe mode to eliminate the possibility that it may be a conflicting app. If it still does it safe mode it could be a hardware issue but I would try a factory reset after backing up your data.

Ok Safe Mode is working. i can record without any problem.

So what can be the issue in the normal mode?

Welcome to the forums. That sounds like an app that you downloaded is creating a conflict with video recording. Which Android version are you running? Search in your settings which apps have the camera permission enabled and disable it one by one until you find the culprit.

Also, you can take a screenshot of the camera permission page and we can take a look at those apps.

Since safe mode worked for you, it is definitely a third-party app interfering with the camera permissions. I would check any apps you installed recently that might use the camera, like social media or flashlight apps, and disable their access one by one to find the culprit. It is super annoying to track down, but usually, it is just one rogue app causing the conflict, tbh.

Welcome to Android Central forums. Jumping in right away, that's good to see. It gets tricky around here sometimes, if you look above the comments you can find the date of the post. This thread is from 2019. Hahaha. No, worries. You should hop in the intro thread and tell us about yourself. What device you have, which you want, how long have you been into Android. You can use this link.

See you around.
