I can't use free up space in Google photos for my Galaxy S21 ultra

When I try to use the free up space feature in Google photos it just sits there and does nothing I'd be fine with deleting the photos manually except it says some of them aren't backed up and I don't know which ones I pressed backup photos but that doesn't work and still says photos aren't backed up does anyone have a solution to this

In settings is back up turned on of google photos to your account? If it is then clear its data and then force stop the app .
