I downloaded new ringtones from Zedge on my pc, they don't work. How can I get them working?

I downloaded new ringtones from Zedge on my pc

I have a moto 3g. I downloaded ringtones from Zedge on my pc. When I transfer them to my phone they won't work. They do show up on my ringtone list. My husband has the same phone, we did the same process and his work. What am I doing wrong?

What format are the ringtones in, mp3? Did you copy the ringtones to the Ringtones directory on the phone? If you select that ringtone, what happens--do you hear it play a sample at all, or is it just silent? Or do you get an error message?
