Try this instead: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

Login with your Google gmail account and password then give the page a few moments to locate your phone. Click the Lock icon and follow the instructions: "Your current lock screen will be replaced with a password lock" which you choose.

Of course, you must have access to the internet through another device and your phone must have a live Internet connection.

I tried that.It says since google has verified that a screen lock is already set,the password you entered won't be needed.I beg you someone help me.Please I have already drew the wrong pattern 70 times but still they are not asking for google a/c info!

Re: I forgot my lock pattern

Welcome to the forums. Have you tried taking the device to your carrier? They may have a way to bypass the lockscreen.

Re: I forgot my lock pattern

Unfortunately, it seems that a factory reset is the only option for a forgotten pin/pattern under Lollipop 5.1x. I have to say, I think that really sucks.

To add insult to injury, you phone may be locked out for three days after a factory reset if you "recently reset your Google account password."

See the Nexus 6 section here: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/4596836

Sorry; for some reason I thought yours was a Nexus 6.

Here are the instructions for Android One: https://support.google.com/android-one/answer/6088915?hl=en

FYI I have Nexus 6 and there was no way to unlock my phone as I forgot my pattern and tried unsuccessfully. I did look and see my photos were all backed up to google photos on my computer so I went for it. It didn't give me the option to enter my google account to recover so I thought I have let it do the factory reset and that is what I did. However, when I did log back on after reset it gave me the prompt to do my google account sign in and let me recover my information from last use or another device. So I was pleased with that.

Tried this?

Search for this on how to geek how-to-fix-pin-errors-after-restoring-from-twrp-android-backups

Worked for me, just sets the security back to swipe.

Hey ! did you ever figure out how to reset your password on your phone without erasing all your info ? if so how did you manage to save it all ? through USB ? Google ? SD card ? i have a motorola 3rd Gen and i forgot my pattern lock and google doesnt have an unlock option....

Hello! This happened to me once, and I took my phone to servis. Honestly, I wouldn't want to lose some of my data, and I would recommend that to you too!
