The best thing is you can set the tablet to official which tricks the tab into thinking it isn't rooted so you can receive updates normally ota

you guys are making it very hard to resist the root route ;-). I've been trying to be good and leave my itchy fingers outta it, because of void warranty worries, but it sure is tempting. I'm looking for some verification that the Square Trade warranty covers rooted devices.

:-( the Knox counter does trip when you root, and voids the warranty, but if you root and do the recovery, you can get OTA updates.

But doesn't recovery lose you root? I'd hate to have to do this everytime I think there'll be an update...
