I got a new bug?

This just happened to me today: I clicked the camera icon, and the screen went entirely black after the camera animation, no image, no weird colors, no nothing. Just plain black screen. Also happens when I try to use the video camera function. Try restarting the phone, taking out the battery and putting it back in, all to no avail. Any ideas anyone?

You took the battery out? Out of the HTC EVO 4G LTE? Well if that didnt fix it then theres no hope....

Either you're the lamest, most uninspired troll on the internet, or you're completely clueless.

Not really sure which is worse at this point.

Well, foregoing your expressive use of very technical language, let's assume for the moment you seem to have figured out the problem I'm describing. What's your solution?

Best bet is to try using the phone while walking down the middle of a busy street at night. That should fix the "problem"

Glad to see your immediate response is irrelevant, pre-adolescent flame wars when I've asked a serious question. Have fun explaining your egregiously inappropriate behavior to the mods.

We've explained numerous times that you're in the wrong forum. The lte battery is not user serviceable.

It's irrelevant that it's possible to replace the battery, it takes more than a fingernail in seams to open this up to remove it.

Hmmm,, at least I know if this battery ever starts craping out it does not look to hard to swap.

Removal of the non-serviceable battery aside, I have actually encountered a somewhat similar bug on my Evo LTE to what the OP describes...

This only began to happen recently. I was originally trying to "quick launch" the camera app from the unlock screen, only to find nothing happening. Then, when I tried to open the camera app directly, I'd get a quick flash the camera interface, then back to the home screen. Force stopping the camera and rebooting the phone didn't help.

If I opened up the photo gallery, then go to camera mode from there, everything works fine.

Found some other thread which suggested that clearing app data for the camera app would help, so I did that, and it worked.

However, after I switched the camera's aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3, if I tried to re-open the camera app again, the same issue returned. Switching it back to 16:9 seems to eliminate the problem.

The frustrating part is that I switched the camera's aspect ratio to 4:3 shortly after I got the phone (pre-ordered, so I've had it as long as any normal person could), and never had issues with the camera app until about two weeks ago.

I'm sorry but that is hilarious!! What are we? 7 year olds telling on each other?

Still no picture of his EVO 4G LTE with the back removed (by a fingernail no less) and the battery removed...

I would still love to see this, but I assume that by now he has long since figured out he was wrong and we were right, he was in the wrong forum.
